Helped my friend finish his landscaping by shoveling buckets full of rocks. Almost two tons. He had a broken arm. Now I know why I never did construction. The sliding cargo tray really helped loading the 4R so I could transport to the back yard. I bet I will be sore tomorrow.

Let us know how your project works out with mounting, position adjusting etc. It sounds like a great idea.

Yes, with a dremel. Made some custom brackets to attach to the grill support bar. Still fine-tuning the idea but they should be fully aimable. They're not quite as low as they could be so the very top edge of the light is blocked. The bracket geometry would have to be a lot more complicated to fix this so I'm happy enough as it is.

Good question! When I was there I met some guys from a wrecking company that were heading up the canyon on quads to examine the wreckage and figure out how to remove it.

Looks like you mounted it from the bottom, but those tabs might get in the way for excursion. Was it not possible to mount it from the top? at the very least i would cut off those tabs

Yanked these puppies out to utilize the inside for storage. Just enough room to stash some jumper cables, 550 cord, and a tire patch kit.

I removed them the easy way by just prying up and snapping clips that are screwed in. They really serve no purpose tho and it clicks right back in no problem with the simple plastic clips remaining.

They weren't fitting well from the top. I didn't think about cutting the tabs, next day off I'm going to take another look and see if it's possible. Thanks for the tip.

Nav wire mod hack, and SR5 light sensor wiring

Got the light sensor on my SR5 working by adding the missing wiring.

Also, nav wire mod hack (inserted a switch inline on the light blue wire going to the radio) so now I (or my passenger) can do all the bluetooth settings I want while the truck is in motion. Push of a button to restore GPS/VSS if I ever have to use the built-in navigation (probably never, as Google Maps on my Android phone is way better and always up-to-date).

Better trim those tabs off before they eat into the surrounds. Won't take long either. The speakers are designed to be mounted from the front not from the back.

Built and installed an antenna mount that works well with the Victory 4x4 roof rack. It attaches to the back of the 80/20 rails with t-nuts, and if needed (going through thick brush) can swing down to horizontal by moving one screw.

Got my Dobinson’s parts in. C59-314 in the front with long travel shocks, c59-677v in the rear with long travel shocks in the rear. Didn’t go with dobinson’s UCA because with a price of 580 and a 70 dollar increase in shipping I figured I might as well go with one that’s better reviewed. The shipping was very fast (ordered about a week to the day) and customer service was awesome! When the UCAs come in I’m gonna buy my girlfriend’s dad a 30 of some good beer and start turning wrenches. I’m about as green as it gets when it comes to working on cars but I’m looking forward to getting to know my truck.

4 Low in the snow!

Well it wasn't today exactly, more like a couple of weeks ago but I've been too busy to share. Took my baby to play in the snow North of Truckee and do some snowshoeing. Beautiful area and on the way down got to pull a Jeep out of a ditch! Priceless!
