What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Technically, yesterday improved on the glove compartment shelf design. Original was soft material that weakened and sagged without heavy items on it (lighter, compass and small pocket knife). 2 mm Carbon Fiber board is a hell a lot stronger than 3 mm original plastic. Also I made fine adjustments for fit and used cloth tape on edges to keep it all quiet and scratch free:

Very clean 5th gen.. love the LFD rack and minimal tire carrier. The functionality here is awesome. A set of sliders and a hybrid/slim style front bumper with a winch would be icing on the cake.

I have SSO sliders already on there. Bumper may be down the road.

I’m considering powder coating my rails. If I plan to haul a kayak and such on my roof, do you think your method would hold up to the abrasion?

If you have the patience for it, you could try doing a vinyl wrap. I tried but my patience level was low that day so just found some black ones locally for a decent price.

They’re ok overall. I had Ridge Grapplers which were hands down the worst tire I ever had, horrible in rain. I have Falken Wildpeak AT3W which were the best tires I’ve ever had. These fall in between the two. I’ll get some front and back pictures tomorrow.

Removing Roof Rail

I’m removing my roof rails to get powder coated. Is there any risk of damage by driving around a few days without the hardware installed? Basically the bolt cavities will be exposed
