The weather was nice, and I had to go to the bank, so I drove around town after going to the bank. I was going to go straight home, but I decided to keep driving. I had the rear window down, and it felt good to drive around.

Threw some ram bases on the aftermarket dash trim kit. There's so much space and I've been thinking about doing it for a while now, not sure why I didn't do it sooner, so simple.

My buddy has a farm and told me he got his Tundra stuck in one of his pastures so he naturally tells me I should see if I can get through. I'm thinking this should be fun regardless. Well, 1 hour of digging later we got my rig out of the mud and enjoyed the rest of the day with laughs and beers. Also, got out to a mountain FSRs but ran into snow and had to turn back. Needless to say, new ATs are on order this week so I can get rid of my city AS Duelers.

Love this setup.. How do you have the recovery boards mounted to your ladder? And what mount is that for your rotopax?

Dobinsons lift is finally in. Cam bolt seized During the alignment on the passenger lower control arm and long story short the process took a week and 3 different instances of the wrong parts being sent. Thank god its over. It rides great but me being an idiot i wasn’t paying attention when I ordered the Adjustable bump stops so i only ordered one because I thought they came in a pair. Now I know what my next task is, To be followed by wheels and tires

Added a Baja rack basket insert to the stock trd pro rack and a Baja ladder to the rear, and also rsg rock sliders

I'm almost ashamed to announce that I moved over to the "DIP side"! Made severall attemps over the past year, finally bored enough to take the time and do it better.
Also installed an APEMAN dash camera that was gifted to me. Added a 2nd cig llghter socket in the glovebox to power up and conceal wiring.

What size Odyssey? How do you like it? Thinking of upgrading my tent soon and this is on the list.

Mini review, I guess.

Got the 49". The tent itself is pretty awesome. After this trip here are the things I’ve noticed:
Pros

• Sets up in like 30 seconds and tears down in around 45. Super easy
• Love the extreme low profile look
• Feels really well built. Was hesitant about the gas struts, but they held solid in 20ish mph winds no problem. Pretty sure there are no other aluminum hardshells with this build quality at this price. In fact there are no aluminum hardshells at this price period.
• Has a little ventilation window on the inside. Lets air flow through without sunlight also coming through.
• Interior LED light strip is a nice touch. It's super bright.

Cons

• I can’t get a good seal when I close it. I can latch it closed just fine, but there’s a small gap. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong or what.
• The black anodized finish on the some parts of the frame are wearing away already and browning. Freespirit is aware of this issue and has said they are working on a fix.
• The mattress is pretty shitty. Im coming from a Tepui memory foam one so this was a step down. Probably going to buy a mattress topper and just roll it up and stuff it in the car when not in use.
• You cant fit anything inside the tent while closed besides maybe a blanket or two. I knew this before buying though.
• Not a fan of the way the ladder latches onto the frame. It doesnt really latch on, it just freely sits in channel. It's a little unstable. This should be easily fixable, but I'm not sure yet
• Wish the production version had the black top. Can be fixed with $70 of black vinyl, but I was hoping it would come looking like the prototypes.
• Wish it had a moonroof like my previous Tepui, but that's just me being picky.

Honestly sounds like a bunch of negatives, but I do love the tent. The only one I'm slightly concerned about is the premature anodizing wear. I'm interested to see how they handle this.

Thanks! Mounted to the ladder using just nuts, bolts and washers. Had to drill another hole through both boards though.

Rotopax mount are prototypes from Joe's Original Equipment. Unfortunately, I don't think they're going to be released to the public anymore. Not sure what happened.

You do list more cons LOL but with any new product, there is room for improvement. My biggest concern, as you stated, is the premature anodizing and I'm surprised they did not catch this during the R&D phase. Maybe I will wait for the V2

Sent you a PM, but idk if it went through so I'll just post it here too. This method will probably only work if you have the C4 Summit ladder.

For the top, I bought a bolt that has the same diameter and thread pitch as the bolt that goes into the steps, just longer. So basically, the bolt holding the boards at the top, also threads into one of the holes for the top step. Hope that made sense.

For the bottom, it's literally just a bolt, 2 washers and a wing nut that are routed through one of the openings in the ladder. Honestly, this is a pretty janky ass setup and it was meant to be temporary, but I've had them on there for like half a year and they've been fine so far.

That's an awesome looking setup - Is that the Odyssey 49 or 55". Would be great to see some head on and side on pics if you have any? How was it? Really considering a switch from my Tepui to this hard shell. Thanks!
