This is more of a what did I did the last 6 weeks up to and including today. Apologies on that. My Bilstein 5160s leaked and went bad back in April, and that started a complete change to suspension in mid-May.

Thanks to Mike (aka Crikeymike) for taking the time and talking me through my Dobinsons options for my 2016 Trail Premium (w. KDSS). I installed Dobinsons IMS Front Struts and Rear Shocks paired with Dobinsons C59-300/C59-599 springs (2in front and 1in rear lift).

Appreciative of this forum and all the helpful how-to posts and well as the video Mike posted to tackle installing this suspension myself with no prior wrenching experience.

When I went in for alignment, I couldn't get the caster above 3 at a reputable 4x4 shop, so I that led me to replace the UCAs with SPC UCAs a couple weeks later. I thought I was hoping I wouldn't need new UCAs for a 2in lift, but since I did, I just had a shop install for me. In hindsight, I should have just bought UCAs with the suspension and done it all myself. Live and learn!

In taking off the skid plate to install lift, I decided to replace it and purchased and installed RCI aluminum skid plate.

Now I felt I needed a tire upgrade to 285 KO2s (moving from Falken 265 ATW3 which have been fantastic but wanted to try something different), and scored a set of Ray10s from SCS. I went to my favorite 4x4 shop, as I thought I would need a BMC and had time scheduled to do it if needed, but luckily only had some minor rubbing on fender liner and mud flap (easily handled by fender liner mod and heat gun). As of this morning, the look is complete (for now).

1st picture: Lift and UCAs installed on 265s
2nd and 3rd picture: Installed 285s and new wheels

Can you open the hatch with that antenna down?

And what bracket is that?

I've got a Gigi bracket and it's...ok.

Yes. I can open the hatch with the antenna down.
It is a Rhino Rack Aerial Folding Mount Bracket. I had a Comet bracket prior and I was concerned it was going to snap or come loose.
The set up I have now is very solid due to the flat mounting surface provided by the Victory 4X4 crossbars and a beefy as shit mount.

I am curious, did you need the new UCAs for the bigger tires, or where they fine with the stock 265 size at 2"s of lift.

I am really close to adding a 1.5-2" lift on stick 265 tire size.

Technically the alignment was in spec with stock UCAs so aftermarket was not "needed". However, with the caster maxed it was in the 2s (over 3 is recommended with the lift for best road manners) and I didn't like how it drove on the highway when comparing it to previous setup (stock UCAs, 6112/5160 with about 1in of preload in front, and stock rear springs).

Nice family camping trip to Black River. Planned as much of the route as possible (30 miles each way) solely on old forest roads. Too much fun teaching the kiddo about choosing a line through the washed out areas that I didn’t get any pics of the drive.
I guess if it is not on the ‘gram it didn’t happen.

Put LFD crossbars in place of the factory ones and did the initial setup/install of a new Yakima skybox in prep for an upcoming roadtrip.

I’m looking at that same skybox with my LFD crossrails. How is the fitment? Any issues with opening the rear hatch with that box?

No issues- the box does block more of the sunroof than I'd hoped it would, but not that big of a deal. Clearly, i didn't care enough to measure before buying it.

Got sick and tired of my recovery gear, tools, air system and straps rattling or taking much need cargo in my 4runner. I put my old Pelican 1750 case to good use. So I bolted her down to the top of my GOBI rack.
