I don't think I'll ever get tired of Colorado. Ran part of the BDR, Ophir, BBP, Mineral Creek, Engineer, Cinnamon, Lead King Basin, and part of Devil's Punchbowl this week. Spent a few days in Moab as well. Onto Idaho for the BDR in a couple of days.

Hard to photograph because the camera adjusts to different light levels, but the s1 is dramatically brighter than the factory reverse lights.

Aluminum skid plate with access panels?

Hi, I joined t4r.org to ask a question over 2 years ago. Every time I try to post the question it says I have not replied enough times. It's going on 3 years. I don't know where to ask the question. So sorry for hijacking the thread! Winter is coming and after 3 years my metal skid plate is rusting out bad after 3 years. Does anyone know a "bolt on" ALUMINUM skid plate that has access panels for both the filter and oil drain plug? Thanks in advance!

Took a trip in to Minnesota around the Tamarac area. Plenty of amazing scenery and some maintenance roads for fun. Loving this full Dobinsons suspension.

Took 9 hours to get here in Natural Bridge, VA with a couple of stops to pee and one to get gas. Getting 13.5 MPG as per the Runner. It was better until I hit some pretty good hills in VA but it handled it pretty well. The Runner towed very stable and no buffeting felt from passing trucks. Kept it around 60 most of the time. Another 4 hours or so to my Son's place tomorrow.

The forum requires you to have 15 posts before you could create a thread. Thatd be why you weren't able to make a thread.

Regarding the skid, my RCI alum skid has access to the filter and oil drain plug. To access the filter, you have to use an allen key to open the panel. For the oil drain plug, there is an access hole.

Window visors from "Well Visors" (from Total Performance) were here when I got home from work.
Installed the drivers side, I'll do the passenger side later. Too hot and tired right now.
Instructions say to install when the temperature is above 75°f for good tape adhesion. 107° is over 75, the tape stuck very well. 2 of the 5 pins on that side went in flush. The other 3 are taunting me by sticking up ¹/16". Eventually got both sides on and all pins flush.

It was a productive day. Thrilled with the results. The truck is completely different, and actually easier to drive. The throttle is instant, without the even touching boost. Once you get into boost - it’s got more power than it could ever need.

Got to NC.

Got to NC this morning after a 4 hour drive. There were some pretty steep hills and I could just barely keep it at 60 MPH. Mileage dropped from 13.5 to around 12. Stability was never a problem but power pulling some of those hills was marginal. I was at or near the 5,000 lb. mark and doing it just this once was OK but I wouldn't pull this much weight on a regular basis. The only thing that suffered was the old top. It started coming apart but it was dry rotted in spots so I'm not surprised it couldn't take the wind.

A friend and I took my 4Runner and his Land Cruiser up to the top of Bedford Motorway trail today. A little rocky in a few areas, but aired down the stock tires and the ride wasn’t bad. I saw a few other 4runners up there, but didn’t get a chance to chat to find out if they frequented the forums. Overall a good day.
