What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

This is not My 4 Runner. I saw this in a HD parking lot in Northern Utah yesterday. Thought it was pretty cool and different from what I have seen elsewhere.
If This person is a member maybe he or she can shed some light on the push bar.
Also look closely at the lower grill there are two very small white devices hanging under the lower clip. they appear to be a nozzle. they did not look like a camera or sensing device.
Nice looking Rig.

I think I saw something like that on amazon before. Also they need to learn the concept of parking...

Got my new wheels put on. They are Titan7 T-AK1 Forged wheels in a Satin Titanium finish. 17x8.5, -8 offset, and very lightweight at 20 lbs each.

I am going to double check but I think it is just dirt. The Runner is washed a ton during the winter so shouldn't have rust. But I would double check it.

Is dirt... they do that for some reason... harder to remove than you would think

Yup I checked it was dirt. PITA to clean. It is not 100% but cleaner than it was

Removed the eight primary bolts from my Prinsu rack, applied ultra black RTV silicone inside the bolt holes, applied a threadlocker and sealant to the bolt threads, and then reinstalled them. Fun times.

I'd have recommended... not doing that. Black RTV is an engine gasket sealant, not a roof hole sealant. Great for oil resistance on a valve cover seal, not great for weather or UV exposure. What can happen is that (unless it's rated for long term outside use), silicone sealants can dry out and retract from joints, allowing moisture to creep in after a few years. This is bad.

It's also going to be a total bear to remove that gunk if you decide to change to a different rack.

Next time, use a dynamic seal that won't cure or harden, like butyl rubber. You'll notice that Toyota didn't slather silicone under the stock roof rack- they use a sealant that stays tacky.

I used butyl rubber and weatherproof washers on my install, you can check it out here:

Read your post, but ill reply here. Where you get your washers? And also have you check for water or moisture since the installed?

All hardware is from McMaster-Carr, and all the part numbers are listed in the post.

I pulled the driver side kick panel to check for moisture recently and found none. This is a common trouble spot for leaky roof installs, as critical electronic connections are routed through this area that can affect the truck severely. See here:

I didn't pull the passenger because I broke a clip on the driver's side and decided not to continue. I regularly check the headliner for any wetness on rainy/snowy days and so far it looks good.

You can also pull your front seat belts out to the stops and check for wet/dampness after a good rain and you'll know if your roof rack is leaking.
