What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

How do you like the iKamper? Looks like it fills out the roof very nicely. Were you bummed to lose basically all useable roof space?

I am in the process of evaluating rooftop tents and I really like the idea of an iKamper/iKamper-like as you get the durability of a hardshell with the larger sleeping area of a softshell. Not super jazzed on the idea of taking up amy entire roof though, so the skycamp mini and roofnest condor have been catching my eye recently. Rig looks sick!

Thank brother! Yeah, I like the IKamper a lot! I got it for the reasons you mentioned....it being a hardshell, and fits the entire family when they go with me. Even when I'm solo, I like the space of the full size IKamper.
A lot of the these hardshell tents hitting the market look pretty awesome, but I would sure miss the room of this thing.

But yeah, you lose all of that rack space. At times it would be nice to have some of that room on the rack, but I honestly have not missed it too much...not enough to offset the benefits of the tent.

It’s the little things

How’s it going everyone! Been registered on here for a minute never posted anything! Here’s something new I’ve done today to my 4Runner got my bumper cut(viper) I think it gives Runners a better looking stance. Shoutout to Gerry at Beast Fab in San Bernardino CA for getting this quick mod done!

Hey sorry I missed this question.

I used a standard RAM 1" ball on a diamond base: RAM(R) Diamond Ball Base

After determining where to place the diamond base and that the space behind where I wanted to place the bracket was clear for drilling I used an awl to locate the center of the holes and drilled out the bezel with a step drill. Then I used a pair of M6 cap screws with a washer and a nylock nut on the inside of the bezel.

I put some bling on. I am kinda digging the retro look. I’m not happy with my hitch receiver shackle post. Pokes out way too much. Going to see if I can shorten it when I get around to it.

And I hate trying to upload pictures to forums. It’s always been a hassle no matter where I try to post. lol

Are the rear springs the Bilstein B12 1.5" coil springs? How much lift did you go with in the front? I want to do 2" up front with this same setup, and get about a 1" rake. Also, what tire size did you go with?

Sure thing...Happy to answer...

Rear springs are the B12 1.5 - 2" springs.
I went with "max" lift on the front at 2.5" by using the recommended circlip positions of #7 and #5 for driver and passenger sides respectively.

According to my measurements, I have about 1" of rake (wish it sat level so prob going to add a half in spacer in there) I suggest using my exact settings to get what you want.

Tires are 285/70/17 and wheel offset is -12mm. Yes, I get a little rubbing on the body mounts... so body mount chop here I come.

I should also mention that I went with Icon tubular UCA's for completeness which also may affect the rubbing.
