picked up some kings from SDHQ and durobumps for the front. eventually i wanna do a secondary mount and bypasses. original plan was long travel but the bilsteins didn't last another year so i'll stay stock width and just add more dampening. can't wait to see how the kings feel compared to the 6112's

Got my new tires put on yesterday! 285/70/17 Falkin Wildpeak A/T3s love them so far! And only a little rubbing full lock reverse. Garage parking is no longer possible

Any lift on it, or do those fit with stock suspension? The tires my new one came with do NOT belong on a 4x4!

I have the Eibach Pro lift springs. So about 1.6" up front and 1" in back, stock height will NOT fit 285s

i was just standing around playing pocket pool when one chick at a gas station looked hot from a distance, but as soon as she turned around, she had a head on her shoulders like a bastard rat. too bad.

still got a knob gobble though.

Good choice. Honestly I kind of wish I gone with a single half swing myself. Would just be much easier to use. I can always modify mine down the road if I need to.

Yeah I didn’t want to wrestle with a full swing out. This was cheaper and it should be a bit lighter.

That’s the beauty of metal bumpers. Just get out the cut off wheel and a welder and mod till content.

Agreed. The Alpharex headlights go through the trouble of actually using LED projectors and/or reflectors in their assemblies, but they suck for the same reason drop-in LED bulbs do: poor hotspot placement and increased foreground lighting. Both work in combination to constrict your pupil and draw your vision closer to the front of the truck, completely limiting your distance vision at night. At best, they are cool to look at on instagram. At worst, they are dangerous to actually use on the road- and this is what everyone should care about when it comes to headlight performance.

The Morimoto full replacements, even though they have their faults (many complain of DRL chips burning out and having narrow high and low beam patterns), are decent headlight units.

If there is a way of doing it, 4Runner owners might consider swapping in the new OEM LED assemblies. If they are anything like the Tacoma ones, they are excellent: 3rd Gen HID vs LED vs Halogen H11 projector headlights | Page 184 | Tacoma World

Everyone, pay attention to how Crashnburn80 uses the H9 halogen bulb (in a 3rd gen Tacoma projector headlight, nearly the same as the 5th gen 4Runner) as a measuring stick. That headlight bulb has nearly the same performance as the OEM LED headlight, and they cost $12 each. There's the reason I advocate for H9 or performance H11 halogen bulbs over any of this "drop-in LED" junk.

I just got back from a hunting trip in North Carolina. About 1,20 miles a good part of that at night both on highway and very dark rural roads. The H9s are perfect and I never got flashed by other drivers. I did however get blinded by plenty of cars with most likely crappy LED bulbs especially thr bright blue monstrosities. The H9 conversion is the way to go hands down.

Went for my first offroad run, with a club.
15 Jeeps, 5 side by sides, Toy rock crawler, and me in the 4runner.
The Wrangler following me said at one point a back tire was 18" in the air. Then a bit later the other back tire was 2½ feet in the air (I never felt unstable). He was impressed with the capability of the 4runner.
At one point I needed guidance to get through a section. The 4runner was fine, it was driver inexperience.
Went through a section called "the Narrows", a curvy canyon that is an inch or 2 wider than the 4runner. Again, with guidance in made it through.
Still ended up with some rock rash later on and the left Nfab nerf/step took a minor blow. It's now a little higher in the front.
All in all a good day.

Philips or Hella H9 bulbs from Amazon.
For under $30 you get great low beams.
If you want better high beams you can do the 9011 mod. Refer to this post, and others in the thread.

These. Do a search on here for the slight modifications you need to make to the bulb to get them to fit. It's quick, easy and well worth it.
