Painted the chrome pieces on the upper grill trim black. Toyota could not resist not having everything blacked out on the Venture.. Next will be to see if I can get pics to directly upload to here. :doh:

Looks like a 285/70? Did you have to do a bmc with the Dakar’s offset?

I had the BMC done with my previous setup (with wheel spacers).....I will eventually go bigger and wanted it out of the way. The Dakars still has an aggressive offset so a BMC would be needed even with 285s.

Just curious how hard this was to do? Did you have a shop do it for you? If so, what is a fair price for re-gearing? Likely upgrading to 34s or 35s later this year.

I believe this is doable if you have the right tool or access to them such as a press and a way to measure the backlash. The shop installed everything in about 2 hrs 30 min. If i were to do it with just jack stands, it would have taken me a day or so.

Did a full vehicle, 2-stage paint correction to get rid of the awful water spotting and surface scratches, then did a ceramic hybrid wax. Then I looked at it and realized I'd be afraid to wheel it now, and found a local(ish) guy selling goat armor, and picked that up and slapped it on.

Also installed my "TRD preaux" front garnish in blackout, and also blacked out my rear chrome.

Now I just need to install my anytime backup camera + front camera system...

Well I spent the day diagnosing why my truck won’t start... figured the neutral safety switch has to be the culprit. Got the 4lo flashing the day before it finally gave out. That cocksucker is sure hard to get off! Gotta take a Dremel to the lock on the shaft/pin later today.

Also tore my hatch apart since that crapped out too, found an ecu and an actuator at a local junkyard. Hoping these are the last fixes from my adventures of getting 6” of water inside the truck... these things don’t like water that’s for sure ha ha. I think I am gonna divert from wheelin the 5th gen and find a nice gen1 taco. Tired of electronic fixes.

I installed blackout emblems today after washing the truck. I used the OEM kit from BAM Wholesale, PT948-89200-02. If anyone needs an overlay for the front sombrero, PM me. I added the TRD PRO style grille so I didn't use it.

275/70/17 Wildpeak AT3, 10 ply, installed. I have a -12 offset which steered me towards not getting the 285 as I didn't want to deal with the front bumper and i'm not ready for a high clearance cut just yet. Overall, really happy with these tires and now i'll stop stressing about a blowout on the trails. They fit the wheel well nicely. Happy New Year everyone!

I actually do have an OEM black rear valence in the garage already and now I'm itching to install it. I am waiting though until my SSO hybrid bumper arrives so that I don't have a mismatch between silver front valence and black rear valence. Plus my factory roof rack is silver, and I'm waiting on my Gobi to arrive... what a process these builds are. Come March, I hope to be almost done.

I used spray tint on mine after some masking. Not perfect but the chrome is pretty much gone. I'm happy with getting it pretty much blacked out now. Silver and chrome gone.
