Is that a full re-gear of the front and rear diff parts and labor for $1700 without the locker?

Finally washed and cleaned my 4Runner tonight after our 128 mile off road trip through the desert. The ceramic coating has been great. Wheels clean up easy.

You probably already thought of this but be sure to check your engine air filter and cabin air filter. That's A LOT of dust which was of course sucked in through both filters.

Tested my prototype aluminum Rototrax/Rotopax mounts for my C4 ladder and finally got around to installing my F/R Duro Bumps. The mounts are pretty janky at the moment, but just testing fitment and stability. Will probably reshape them and paint after theyre more dialed.

You probably already thought of this but be sure to check your engine air filter and cabin air filter. That's A LOT of dust which was of course sucked in through both filters.

I did check the air filter about three quarters of the way through the trip and it was good. I replaced the air and cabin filter about 2000 miles before the trip. There was some very fine thick loose salt/sand when crossing Soda dry lake. 4WD needed and with no wind you could not see the vehicle ahead of you due to the very thick dust. I need to check the cabin air filter. Thanks

I don't think so but, there may be some things in it that will interest you as others...... It's pretty handy!

Didn't do this today but man this sucked ...

After doing a recovery in the rain, in ankle deep in mud bare foot. I had to spend 5hrs to clean the rig, wash my recovery gear, wash my winch line and re-tension it.

Nissan Titan 2wd stuck in a drainage ditch on the side of the hill. Recovery took 80ft of my winch line, 1 - 30ft kinetic rope, and 4 - 25ft tow straps. Mud soo bad it required me to be strapped to a manhole cover just to keep me from being dragged down the hill.

Mud and water is much worse than dirt and rocks.

Installed morimoto 2stroke 3.0s for low beams and tundra LED fogs.

Was a little worried about the 2strokes in reflector housings, but these seem to have a similar cutoff to the oem bulbs!

Wow thats incredibly inexpensive. Gears alone are $1300+. Were you using pre assembled 3rds?

So i needed some extra space so i made this shelf. I know you can buy these fairly cheaply but its more satisfying for me to do it myself especially when it turns out right! I've got plenty of space to install all my relays and winch cut off.

Pretty much. You shouldn't be out on the road like this without enough water/gas to spend the night if you get stuck.

Clear out the snow from the exhaust and ration the gas. You should have enough clothing to stay warm.

That's assuming you were using your brain before you head out in 2ft of snow in a car.

It's like the ocean here in NJ. It's not a tourist amusement, it will gladly kill you. Happens every year, usually to minorities from NYC. Most of them can't swim and hop in the water after the lifeguards leave, because they don't want to pay for a badge.

Multiple people will stop to lend a hand or offer a ride. Hell we even give rides to hitchhikers. Sure we're all carrying guns though.


Few years ago, a friend of mine called me and asked for a pull right after a large snow storm. His car was stuck on the edge of going into his pond. I went over there, chained up my tires, and pulled his car out and up to the 2 lane highway.

As I was sitting there at the end of his driveway taking my tire chains off, I had 3 different vehicles stop and ask if I needed help.

Around here, there's always someone to get you out, usually it's a tow truck.

It's more a worst case scenario, where there isn't a soul around.

The staying in the car bit is from around here. There are so many asshats on the road in the snow, that the chance of someone sliding off in the same spot and massacre-ing you on the side of the road is pretty high.
