Only an oil change

Did the first oil change on my 4Runner. Wife asked why I’m wasting my time when we have free oil change from Toyota. I showed her the dealership oil change thread, she replied, “Time to get a Tesla.” :doh:

Cool, any idea what kind? By the shape of the head it looks non-venomous.

Looks like a Gopher/Bull Snake. Non-venomous and often confused for a rattlesnake - which means most people will kill it out of fear.

Snakes are cool. Please don’t kill them. They’re important rodent controllers. Unfortunately they get squashed often on roadways.

Here’s side by side comparisons of a rattlesnake and gopher snake. Not my photos but notice the different heads and tails. The rattler also has a thicker body.

I see often see these on California hiking trails in spring and summer.

Finally removed the XREAS and added a lift. Bilstein 6112 front, 5100 rear, Wheelers T13, OME UCAs. 2.5 inch front, 1.5 inch rear. Amateur mechanic and a friend that’s a bit more mechanically inclined - the whole thing took us 10 hours in the driveway. Gotta wait 3 weeks for my appointment for wheels and tires and alignment, so it’s going to be driven lightly and look like it skipped leg day for a bit.

Looks like a "glossy snake" (Arizona elegens)=Non-venomous and sort of a shiny gopher or bull snake. Eats lizards and mice. That one is good sized (record is 5') and lost a couple of inches off his tail=likely a hawk but maybe a coyote.

From a Wildlife Biologist, professional and amateur herpetologist with about 40 yrs experienxe in the SW.

BOUGHT IT!!

Super excited to start a new modding chapter with this vehicle. Wont be going to far, as i have a Power Wagon for the tough stuff. Plus this is the wifes daily. So cant get too crazy.

I did however place an order for the black badge overlays. and will be doing the TRD pro front grill mod.

I know, i know. you pro guys are probably sick of seeing this already. But i love the look of the pro, and so does the wife. So i gotta do it!

HA!! the first thing i said to my wife was "These steps look pretty cool, but they are kinda in the wrong place to put your feet when you get out"

She is only like 5'2" though. so they work really well for her.... for a normal sized person though, not so much lol

But i love the look. keeps the rugged look of the truck. i despised the running boards.

Had the dealer remove them, I sold them, ordered and installed RSG sliders!

I’m waiting on my set of rsg sliders to come in. I want sliders, wife wants a step for her and our baby girl. Do you find them to be a decent enough step? I got the flared rear so I am hoping that’s a bit more surface area for the little one to step on as she climbs in and out.

I find that they are adequate. Mine stick out approximately 4+”, makes it easy for my wife to grab ahold and use as a step when desired.

Did Fins and Things trail in Moab. Blew out a BFG Km3 tire coming down hard in a rock. Changed to the spare and got out. Power steering now not working and multi-terrain light on even though the system is off. Ordered a new KM3 from Grand Tire Pros in Moab. Nice shop. Any ideas on what disabled the power steering? Thanks.

Are other lights on too? I bent a spindle and because the steering was so far off it had to be recalibrated after I fixed it.
