Moved from Chicago to Portland. Five day one-way road trip with wife, sister-in-law, 2 dogs and camping gear. Used a hitch rack to carry 2 Plano boxes and a cooler. Behind the single backseat was another Plano with work computer gear. Folded down the two-seat back seat and laid down foam dog beds for the dogs and/or passenger to lay down.

Day 2: Rapid City > Billlings
Day 3: Billings > Tetons
Day 4: Tetons > Boise
Day 5: Boise > Portland

Drove through Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills Hills Scenic Drive, Beartooth Highway, Yellowstone, Tetons, Columbia Gorge,

Fun trip but glad it's over and done with.

Getting her the way I want

Really this week but Cornfed 2/1" Lift, Wildpeak Falken AT3 275/70/17, sprintbooster (worth the money), Start X remote start W/912 Extended remote fob, Carista OBD scanner to change annoying things and a set of Rhino folding Kayak carriers for the rack.

Wonder where your caster is set at. I always used 3 with the stock control arms and slightly above that with my new Icon DJ units. That stopped the rubbing for me with 285/70s.

Yeah on stock UCAs with 2.1 or so caster, I had to remove the mud flaps and trim a small section of the front bumper. When doing the alignment, I told them to shoot for 4 degrees caster. They failed to let me know that the "printer is messed up" and they didn't print out my before/after alignment numbers. My receipt shows the note of 4 degrees caster, but I'm not sure if it is actually there.

Cleaned up my Midland radio install. I previously mounted the main unit in the glovebox but had the mic routed down through the panels. Today I installed a coupler, added a cable from that to the main unit which now gives me an ethernet jack to plug the mic into.

I can unplug the mic, stow it and it's all clean!

Mine is arriving today. Did you run it straight to the battery or did you tap it into the fuse box inside the cabin?

C4 Low Pro Front Bumper

Yesterday and today. Installed the C4 Lo Pro Bumper with a Smittybilt X3 winch. I was happy with my old Smittybilt winch on my FJ so I decided to go with the same thing. It took the entire day for 2 of us to do this install. There were a few extra steps on our 2021 with TSS. Fog light wiring goes across the plastic bumper. This needed to be moved after doing the cutout for the new bumper. The TSS also needs to be removed and reinstalled. I had a local shop powder coat it with a rough style coat.

The bumper also has an Extreme LED 30" lightbar installed.

Even when you drive a 4Runner, you still have to literally dodge a Dodge. I was following an old Dodge Ram pickup (not just Ram) this morning, and some exterior trim pieces just came flying right off!

Recently tried trimming the SR5 rocker panels but I did not like how it looked with the new step rock sliders from Budbuilt. So I picked up some trail edition rocker panel covers and installed it.

Much happier.

Installed a Ready Lift on Monday and assembled and installed a Rola top rack today.

In time I will be buying 33" tires, but I am still undecided on if i want to leave the factory rims or buy and replace with these Black Rhino Raze wheels.... Thoughts or opinions of which looks nicer?

Today? Well, I drove it. We headed from Detroit down to Nashville last Thursday and today we started back. All told, it will be over 1500 miles.

For a 2018 with just over 100k, she still feels like a new truck. Even got the tires a little dirty on a land management area
