Stepped up to a 285/75/17 Already ran these Nitto tires in a 285/70/17

Looks great! I'm considering that step as well. I have a Icon 3" lift with fender liner cuts to run 285/70/17 what other mods are necessary to make the step to 285/75/17 and would 7.5" wheel be wide enough?

I already had a BMC, SPC upper control arms and splash guards removed. I trimmed the front bumper a little more, pushed in fender liners a little more.Trimmed the black rail caps behind front wheel. I also have always had a 1in body lift. My wheel is a 17x9 with a -12 back space.

Thank you! I really can't stand the silver front and rear valence and wanted to get the black valence for the front rear. Other than that, pretty happy with it. Since it is my wife's primary driver, I will probably just leave it at this height since she is comfortable with it.

Picked up some HardKorr lights for the canopy at camp. Just fitted them for use for all the other times. Magnetic mount to the molle panels. Control switch dimms and switches between orange and white.

Ceramic coated

So I Decided to try at home ceramic coating. This is what I used:Ceramic Spray Coating: Ceramic Slam – Lithium Auto Care
I didn't go crazy with prep I just washed it well with Dawn to strip off any wax that might have been on there then followed directions. You spray it on, spread it with a microfiber cloth, wait 5 minutes and buff off. It took a lot of buffing before any streaking was gone. It shines really well and is as slick as goose snot. It says to to get it wet for at least 24 hours and we are supposed to get rain on Thurs. so I guess I'll see how it beads up then. Overall I'm happy with it.

Let us know how it does with articulation and rubbing. I'd be curious as I've considered making that jump from 34s to 35s as well.

So far I’ve done some very mild off roading with no issues. It gets really close to the chopped body mount, but I’m getting that relocated on September 12th.

It also gets very close to the lower rocker trim. I’ve already trimmed it, but will be trimming more and doing the pinch welds soon.

Finally was able to put on the Fox 2.5 front and rear with RR in rear only. Loving the stance and set up so far. I paired it with the Wheelers T13 in the rear, but I am not getting as much lift as I thought I would. I have a pair of 2in Icons that I could add but was worried about putting a larger spring on the Fox 2.5 rear which are for 1-1.5 in of lift. Ill see how everything settles down.

Bumper Backdate

Got her back from the bodyshop with an early model (10-13) rear bumper. Its similar to a Trail bumper without the garnish piece and had holes for parking sensors. Can't figure out what trim this bumper would have come from but found it by looking at parts diagrams online. The guy at the body shop said it was the only one in the country and had to be shipped from California.

Here's the reason for the new rear bumper cover.

meh, its fine for the one time to prep for a ceramic coating. there are better options though, youre not wrong.

It would still be fine after a ceramic coat, on the ceramic coat. But you want to strive for PH neutral shampoo (and NO WAXES) when looking for a car shampoo when coated with ceramic.

I didn't disagree with you.. I've used the same myself. :thumb: But you'll still want to do a IPA wipedown prior to laying the coat. Cheers.

true we used it several times on our old 2007 rav4 and it turned the window trim into this soft gooey mess over time.. it was pathetic
