I could do that but I wonder if the paint would wear off. Maybe with a lot of clear coat?

I currently have a dual row 42 inch light bar on my roof, and wanted something that is slimmer in profile, since I rarely ever use it.

my slow runner is a dirty boy (MGM), so glare isn't too bad.

Yeah, roof mounted light bars are pretty useless in most adverse weather conditions, but its nice to have options when a specific situation demands it.

Well, i dremeled it first, before i realized the plastic was thin enough to cut it with a razor blade. :doh:

The laser cut emblem was already there..i just cut some plastic and double sided it to the fairing on the backside. if the plastic is thin enough (like those cheap colored, thin plastic party plates), you can sandwich it between the fairing and the bar, and that will hold the backing in place.

To make sure the double side tape adheres, I put some wood blocks on it with weigh to top of it to keep pressure on it for 24 hours.

You have to kind of shape it due to adding weatherstripping later on. Once mounted, the backside wont be visible at all.

You can pretty much do this to any laser cut emblem. I have a bunch of rago and victory molle panels that have tiny emblems i might do, since i still have a lot of plastic left on that yellow tray i sacrificed to the 4runner gods.

If you haven't committed to it, you might consider swapping to a bar with better light control. The TIR optics in the Diode Dynamics bars is exemplary and result in a ton less glare than a cheapo bar I tried- and at a price point that isn't too much higher than the cheapos. I know I sound like a shill for DD at this point- I should ask those guys for some kickbacks.

lol, i already bought it. I like DD stuff and still do. I also like lasfit stuff, so I want to give them a try since i haven't been disappointed with their stuff

Sure, it's an Ecotechne rack that I actually don't recommend for several reasons. One is that the fit/finish and powdercoat are famously terrible, which is why I ordered mine raw and finished it myself. That's here:

The other is that they seem to be changing the design in order to make it easier to ship, and they've made some decisions that I think look terrible. You can see the new one here:
