Can't recommend ceramic enough, especially in Texas. I'm a former floridian and it was a game-changer as far as keeping the vehicle cool in the summer. I'd also recommend the windshield with a clear or very lightly-tinted film as it makes an enormous difference.

ordered upper control arm rebuild kit. Looks like we bashed the minivan too hard in the desert and wrecked the moog ball joint in the DK upper. gonna just rebuild both and do all new bushings too. (hoping its the upper ball joint lol)
Ditched the last of the wood accents. Wasn't expecting to like the CF piece on the passenger side but digging it so far.
Looks great. I have the same CF piece and dig it too. How do you like the Dasaita?

I meant 5% on the sides and back. They showed me a car at the shop with a 30% tint on the windshield but the guy was like yea don't do that. That's too much.
You have to consider that the factory windshield is like 70 or 72%. So by doing a 50 or something you really aren't doing all that much extra.
Brand is Solar FX and I believe the ceramic line from them is called FXtreme or something like that. Damage was $550. $350 for the back half and $200 for the windshield. I think the 3M ceramic films and stuff can run a lot more. I did that once on an Audi I had but this shop I went to was who was recommended by the Toyota dealer and Solar FX is the brand they use.

Exactly. You could do the entire car in 80% ceramic which is clear and it'll cut out all the UV rays and provide a lot of protection even if you didn't want to tint a vehicle.
2 things I always do now to whatever vehicle I have. Ceramic and Weathertech.
It's pretty nice for what it is. It's certainly not perfect but I don't have any major complaints.
I really just wanted something that looked somewhat factory and had better maps and music options, lol.
Wireless Android Auto is a pain, but wired Android Auto has been great.
Have only had it for a few weeks so still tweaking and playing with things. Having Google Maps even without the phone has been great, but the layout it a bit odd given the screen is so wide.

It's just a cheapy stick on piece. It's a piece of thin plastic that was dipped as far as I could tell. Then just had thin double sided tape on the back.
The tape is kind of eh, but seems to be doing the job. The fit is actually surprisingly decent though. No gaps or anything on my piece.

So I'll update what I've been up to with mine this week...
Sunday - Remove front bumper and install Morimoto Xb Headlights - HUUUUGE improvement...
Monday - slapped up some patches, installed low profile ditch light brackets
Tuesday - installed ditch lights, wiring for ditch lights, realized switch wasn't the right size, and painted rear valance black with Plasti-Dip.
Wednesday - Installed Rexing M2 Dash Cam. I absolutely LOVE this thing. But not because it records everything that happens - but because of the rear view camera and I no longer have to look at headrests, B and C pillars, and everything else that gets in the way of me having a clear view of what's behind me.
For those unfamiliar with this system, it attaches on top of your existing rear view and has a forward facing camera and a wired rear view camera. The 12" "mirror" can be used as a mirror - but really shines when the rear camera feed is displayed. It's a wide angle lens unit with excellent resolution. For someone with a lot of gear in the back or molle panels blocking the rear side windows one of these will be a GAME CHANGER. You can utilize ALL the storage and not compromise your view of what's behind you. I mounted mine to my third brake lamp with some 3M double sided tape.
Thursday - took the day off from mods.
Friday - I'll be picking up my SSO Slimline Front Bumper today...gotta order a winch now...

You got pics of this installed? And a link to the product? My rearview is basically blocked by my "attic" cargo net - I basically have to duck my head in my lap to see out my rearview mirror.

Even 5% side/back is still pretty dark. I've had that on my previous truck and I hated it. It was way too dark and I almost killed bikers/joggers around my neighborhood a few times while reversing. I won't go that dark again.
I just got 3M crystalline tint a week ago over the 3M ceramic IR tint. I went 50% for the rear door and rear hatch and 20% both front doors then 60% on the windshield. I'm happy with it. Feels nice and cool. Summer hasn't come yet so I have yet to test them out. However I really also wanted Huper Optik tint. I heard they're the industries best tint. But who knows.

How do you like the KC wire hider? I have on sitting but have not installed it yet. will it hold the wires in fine? and think it will tolerate weather well?

I think it will be fine. KC makes great products, and the tape is by 3M. I also stuck it to the glass, right on the edge, so I think it will stick just fine. Eventually I want to add some rack lights. The hider has plenty of space for more wires. I checked my windshield wipers, and they clear it just fine. I think it will work out well. If I have any issues, I'll find this thread and report back.

I hauled fencing materials in my utility trailer. Wood poles, t-posts, rolls of barbed wire, miscellaneous hardware. Then after emptying my trailer, I went to pull out from under the trailer but the tongue caught the ball and it came with me then released. The coupler hit the lip below main bumper face, pushing it in and removing a nickel size spot of paint. The plastic popped back out, but did leave a subtle ripple. Oh well, the rear bumper has some paint scrapes where heavy items got drug over the bumper edge while loading/unloading, so no biggie.

theres room behind the OEM weather strip to run an antennae wire. driver side has my antennae wire, passenger side has 2 small wires for dust lights on the back of the rack. you cant see the wire, and the weather strip sits in place just fine. if you pull the weather strip on the roof rail you can tuck them in that, then re silicon it down with a weight holding it and you dont see the wires at all until the roof rack hides them.
