What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Did most of an oil change. Interrupted by a substantial thunderstorm.
Drained the oil, was about to remove the filter when mother nature decided I shouldn't.
I went inside to wait for it to subside, these don't usually last too long. Usually.
I was running out of time as I had to pick up my son from his work. I didn't change the filter, refilled with new oil.
By this time the rainwater in the yard was ankle deep. The washes on either end of our street were flowing, several others had appeared. Three new ones flowing from our property. Most cars and 2wd pickups were waiting for the water to subside. The 4runner went through the washes like they were dry. Deepest water was about 18".
Went in to town and got my son. We went to the shop to get his Jeep, repairs were done (sort of). Stopped at daughters work to tell her she wouldn't make it home in her little car (Hyundai Accent). So we went to dinner and by the time we were done the water had moved on.

Just did my first oil change a few days ago, fairly simple process. I did change out the oil filter housing to the metal one. The 10k oil looked fine in color may do 7500 miles for my reassurance. The toughest part was probably reinstalling the trd skid plate but it wasn't too bad.

past month installed the trail grid pro sony 8100 bundle , replaced all speakers plug and play for toyota.
front : focal 6x9 and tweeters in dash
Rear/Tail: 6.5" powerbass speakers

The past couple days I've gotten a few things and got them installed. Still waiting on a few items that is taking longer than expected to come in. Installed black front/rear valances and diode dynamics elite series fog lights.

Got a body mount chop and running 34"s! 285/75/R17 Nitto Ridge Gapplers. So far so good with these hybrid MT/AT tires.

Any opinions if I should go with the Morimoto XB or Alpharex Nova?


Also order a new grill from CustomCarGrills only cost $150.

Back in a 5th Gen! Picked up this mint 15 Inferno Pro yesterday! I've always lusted after this spec and couldn't pass up the opportunity. 42K miles, West Coast rig since new, and full service history at the local Toyota stealership.

Plans for now - upgrading the headlights to OEM LED's off of a 22 TRD OR, Icon Stage 3 suspension, 275/70/17 Falkens, Westcott Designs sliders, and front-end PPF.

Well, the original purpose was for limb risers on the 5gen 4Runner but I repurposed them for Bowline brackets. They work well and I also setup a secondary attachment point just to be safe.

Maybe I am being Naive, as I just bought one, but cant you get the Nav system updated at Toyota? Or online with your chip already in place?

You can have Toyota update it but it's expensive. I think I remember it being a couple of hundred dollars. I haven't heard of an online update.

No idea if Canada is included. No programming necessary, just pop out the old one, insert the new one, start the Runner and follow the instructions on the screen. It installs its self. I'll check to see if Canada is on there later, now you have me curious too!

I have an ‘18 SR5 w/NAV. Do the maps look any different, have more features (like real time elevation) or just simply the latest points of interest, restaurants, etcetera?

I bought my truck used in 2019, it came without the card. I bought mine (2018 version) shortly after purchase off of eBay from an AZ dealer.
