plasti-dipped my stock wheel fender flares today, such a tiny and easy mod that doesn’t even stand out on this color, but makes it pop in a weird way. like you don’t even know it’s there but you know it looks good for some reason lol

Completed my onboard air setup. Took inspiration from a guy on tacomaworld. It’s a viair 88p compressor hard mounted to a c4 accessory tray. Manifold and fittings are from Amazon. Obviously not quite done with the wiring but it’s all there.

The idea is for me to just be able to grab my hose and air chuck, pop the hood, plug in the hose, turn on compressor and easily go from tire to tire. It has a switch which turns off the compressor at 120 psi so it’s not constantly running. In the future I might toss in a 1 or 1.5 gal tank on the passenger side but for now this will do. Also, I realize this compressor isn’t ideal but I already had it. I’ll upgrade when this one craps out.

very creative I like it. those viair compressors are well made. I had a 400P auto and wasn't able to fit it in the engine bay so I bought an arb single. good compressor but I wanted to be able to use my viair. I mounted it in a case and now it serves as a portable unit.

Thanks but I can’t take too much credit. All I had to do was figure out how to mount it. The 88p fits but barely. It’s probably less than a cm from the hood and a mm or two from the hood strut. I may look at the 400p later down the line when it comes time to upgrade.

Yesterday drove from Long Island NY to Mooresville NC. 640 miles. This old man does not love long trips for sure but the 4Runner did great. Averaged 19.8 miles with a fair amount of weight in the back. So many friggin bugs on the front and windshield though! I'll be washing them off today, thank goodness for the ceramic coating, it will make getting them off a lot easier.

Test fitted a 2022 entune 3.0 Headunit in the 2017 last night . Powered on and played with it for a few minutes, everything seems to be in working order. Will need to pick up a gps cable from the dealer and retro fit the hazard button.

Just waiting around for my new cooler/refrigerator/warmer to arrive. The hinge on the last one broke [ ;-( ] It worked well for 2-3 years on several 2-3 week trips, including one where the trip didn't get below 100 F except for a few times (one week of 112F temps).

I installed the full speaker upgrade kit from Trail Grid Pro, into my 2022 Off Road Premium.

Used their YouTube video as a guide and all was very straightforward.

I don’t have an amp or subwoofer as the TRD Pro does, but the speakers made a noticeable improvement in sound quality. Midrange seems more defined, highs are crisper, and bass feels more punchy. Overall I’m satisfied.

2022 HU into a 2017!!!

Completed the install of a 2022 headunit into a 2017 . Install was simple with the wiring transplant harness from autoharnesshouse . Great customer service and quick responses from Brian. Quality of harness is solid, only minor issue was one connector came out and I reached out to him to verify its location. He responded with a picture of the location.

Toughest part was probably drilling out the old hazard button on the 2017. I drilled out the 2022 hazard button with bezel first and did drill all the way through. No issues since this wasnt going to be reused. Just be very careful , did the 2017 bezel next and did fine. Thanks [MENTION=79050]emmantik[/MENTION] for the info on trimming the bezel to retrofit into the new HU. I took a dremel and sanded the three sides to fit in it. It is pressed in tight and wont budge. Everything appears to be working, carplay , stock gps/navigation , radio etc.

Will use it more and check for bugs and items that dont work.

NFAB Nerf Bars

Removed my replacement set of rusty NFAB nerf bars and getting ready to strip them down for repainting.

Decided to go with the Raptor Aerosol bedliner.

It was off ebay from a salvage yard and the company does have it own website.

Did my about yearly oil change at 7000 miles. Noticed a coolant leak around the water pump, so took it into the dealer and they replaced it under warranty. Bad luck with the 4R only at 53k on it. While under there I noticed the KDSS outer clips undone most likely from the last wheeling trip, so replaced them with DR KDSS clamps. I banged up my gas tank skid pretty good on that trip too, so ordered a Victory one during the tax sale. Looking forward to getting that in soon. I know it ain't the west like most of you guys, but New England has some pretty great wheeling too. This was just some private land.

Our “order” made in December for a 2023 Off-road in Lunarock, finally got filled as the car arrived today. Still keeping our 2014 SR5 with 328K miles as that vehicle should easily make 500K miles. Wanted another 4Runner with the proven reliable 4.0 liter engine. These are my wife’s cars. I get the old ones.

Update: they called back and this one was an Off-road Premium w/ moon-roof and softex upholstery. So we’re back to waiting.
