Ozarks Trip - Parker-Hickman Farmstead
I took a trip the Ozarks, around the Buffalo River, and stopped by the Parker-Hickman Farmstead.
Immigrating from Tennessee in the 1830s, the Parker brothers built their farmstead on 195 acres in the bottomlands of the Buffalo River in the Ozarks. Using techniques similar to the built log homes back in Tennessee, the Parker brothers utilized the local red cedar logs to construct their home. These logs date back to the 1840s, indicating that this is the oldest log structure in the Buffalo National River area.

New to me ‘16 limited and I realized the trunk area due to the JB audio system doesn’t have as many open cubbies for storage back there and just the open trunk.
What do some of you guys do to carry/store some stuff? Like ratchet straps, air pump etc? My previous vehicle basically had the under trunk panel you could open and was nice for storage stuff for emergencies like booster cables etc.

Oh yeah. It’s on my mile long list of things to get hahah now that the 4Runner is paid off I keep finding things to spend my money on hahah

My 1st 5k mile mark TLC 4Runner love service
First 5k gentle miles have been put on my 4Runner and I did a little service.
Changed cabin air filter with Fram Fresh Breeze filter. Local dealership wanted $75. Did it myself for $20 in less than 5 minutes with most likely a better quality air filter.
Changed engine air filter. Wasn’t horribly dirty but I do drive dusty desert roads. Dealership wanted $80. Did it myself in under 5 minutes with Wix filter for $19. Most likely better quality as well than the OEM.
Wanted higher quality oil filter so had Dealership reluctantly use this Royal Purple one when they did my oil change. It is rumored to be same as or very similar to TRD Pro filter but almost 1/2 the price.
Used this Techron fuel system cleaner a couple fill ups before my oil change.
What oil did I use one might ask? Sweet OEM Toyota Synthetic nectar 0-20w
And that folks is all the damage for this week.
Since doing this I almost feel my 4Runner has a faintly little more pep to it and improved mpg’s (like 0.25-0.5mpg). Is this possible or in my head placebo effect?

Even with molle panels and no sub I've found it much easier just to keep almost everything in a small to midsized duffel bag that I can pull in and out. Much easier if I need to throw it in the wife's car for trips as well.
Went camping yesterday and snuck in some off-roading. Found out my bump stops are a tad short (energy 8.9104 with the first rung cut off). Hit some washouts at speed ~40mph and the front tires would come up and hit the wheel well. I’m on 285s and I guess I shouldn’t have cut my bump stop shorter but it was practically riding on the bumps when they were full length. So I guess this weekend I may pull the coil and cycle the suspension to see how long of a bump stop spacer I need.
Good news is that the energy bump stops and Bilsteins 6112s are like butter together. The front end floated over everything and the bottoming out wasn’t jarring like stock bumps.

Question regarding tire pressure. I’ve stumbled on this thread Dummies' Guide to Setting Correct Inflation on Your 5th Gen 4Runner Tires
Which if I follow the guideline, my ‘16 limited has 275/55/20s on it now BFG ATs and I should be running it basically at 35-40psi as these tires are a D rating tire. Is my assumption correct?
Stock size is 245/60/20 which comes back as a weight rating 1944lbs at 32psi which is recommend pressure.
Derating at 1.1 that give me 1767, which based on this website LT275/55R20 Tire Pressure Chart - TirePressure.com
The sweet spot psi is around the 37/38 psi mark. Can anyone confirm if this is the case or what? Because I feel like 6psi from OEM recommendation is quite the difference.

You can actually call BFGoodrich customer support and they will use their chart to tell you the correct pressure when running non-standard size tires, or different load range.
