What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I think I'm more interested in..... what in the world is going on with that rear view camera.

LOL...well um... it aint pretty but it works.

Yeah I wanted my OEM camera to still have the parking lines to be usable so that was the only location where it worked.

Also i was lazy when it came to wiring......and i was being cheap as heck so i used whatever i can find in my buddy's garage to cobble it up.

I have contemplated more elegant solutions but this thing actually works at that location.

I know u got the same bumper, what did u do for the rear view camera?

The late and not great Pelfrey made a camera bracket that fit the 5g 4runner camera. Kept it in line with the original location and just mounted it on the swingarm. Was able to find the oem plugs and made an extension harness to get it down to the swingarm (That was not fun lol).

Love the shovel mount idea, might have to steal that haha.

Good to know on your camera solution. I can technically do what you did and ditch the ladder but as you mentioned, the wiring job is a PITA.

Yeah man, i love the stow-its. You can put whatever you want in there since it ratchets (fishing rods to paddles to awning poles). Had quickfists before, but wanted something more theft proof and one handed operation without opening my swingarm. Some people will buy 1 pair of stow-its and 1 pair of quickfists, and mix and match so now they have 2 lockable solutions for cheap.

I bought the AJC kit to use with my rigd and it works great. Install is clean and still has parking lines too.

After 5 years in Salem, Oregon and winter arriving early, I replaced all 3 wiper blades. Last time I replaced only the rubber inserts. This time I could not find a source without a minimum of 10 inserts. Good Toyota parts, they still looked OK.

I installed my 265/70r17 Baja Boss AT today with my SCS F5 Dark Bronze rims. What a difference from nasty 20-inch wheels.

Do you all think I need aftermarket UCA regarding my alignment specs? I'm only running .85 inches of lift in the front and kept the rear stock with Bilstine 5100 struts.

The guy at the alignment shop told me/ showed me that he could not get my right wheel to 3 degrees of caster, and every time he moved the camber bolts, my camber would go out of wack. Surprisingly, the left side reached 3.3 degrees, but since the right could not get the same specs as the left, we compromised with the left side's specs. We checked everything; all the bushing was suitable, and nothing was bent. Yall think the alignment tech sucks, or do I need JBA high caster UCA's?

You should not need UCA with less that 1” lift. Maybe you need a better alignment guy.

Drove my other vehicle to KRAVE automotive in Calgary to pick-up our 2017 4runner. Bought it used with spacers, totally messed up the rideability. The system busted up the shocks, so it's a bit of a job, but stoked to be able to change lanes at 100 km/hr and not white knuckle.

Replaced my rear hatch struts with new ones from AutoZone. Roughly $40 shipped to the house. Not the biggest fan of the metal clips on the new ones.

My left strut failed, and that was enough to prevent the hatch from staying up. I noticed the hatch would sag from time to time, so I knew it was coming. (can't complain with over 194k on the odo)

I would recommend going with either OEM or upgrade if you plan on a ladder in the near future.

Bolted a rotopax universal mount and 4 gal tank to the oem crossbars. Nice and low. I plan on buying a 2 gallon tank for when I take out the dirtbike.

I bought the same one and it’s great. The dealer still decided to remove it last oil change and they stripped a hole, but re-tapped and apparently all is fine now.
