Does research count? Read 117 threads about which tires to get and am even more indecisive than when I started. Then, tried to figure out how much lift I want to do and the same thing happened. Can't wait for Black Friday where I'll be forced to make a decision.

Shut the hatch and heard something bouncing around in there. Removed the door panel and one speaker so I could feel around in there. Found one of the nuts that holds the rear emblem panel to the hatch had fallen off. So I put it back on and tightened both. I think I've heard of this happening to others' 5th gens.

did a little solo offroading today. nothing really that difficult but still great fun regardless. I've only ever gone solo and it's always the mud that gives me angst. I cut the trail short today because of the mud and took an easier route but I'm 95% sure I could have made it the rest of the trail myself.

spent about 5 minutes just thinking whether or not I wanted to pass the point of no return after some scouting and talking to some hunters who said it was really nasty up ahead. but today wasn't my day. there was one point where I thought I was going to high centre when I got pulled into a couple deep mud ruts but I made it out. definitely had an 'oh shit" moment and just focused on keeping momentum.

Are you running a 285/75-17(34”) tire?

Slightly smaller, Mickey Thompson 285/70R17 load E, on 9" wide Mickey Thompson wheels.
The kicker is the trajectory from the 1.25" Spidertrax spacers.

Adding the spacers is an additional -31.75mm. Not sure what your 9” wheel offset is, but that’s a lot. Besides just pushing my front liners forward upfront on my Pro with a 17 x 8.5 x0 wheel on a 285/70-17, I only have a very slight scrub articulated off road. I still have my OEM mud-flaps and no other mods to fit besides a +3.7 caster.
Are you planning on 34’s? Or maybe a 295?

Nice man! Yeah so I've chopped my fender liner straight across at the height that I Dremel chopped my front bumper for the stage 2 high clearance cut [sprayed the pink coolant tank black]
I also removed the OEM front mudflaps, and before the clearance cut, my shop cut a sliver off the front fender in front of tire due to rubbing in reverse full lock, very common.

My wheels are 0 offset, 5 backspace.

Before the gorgeous black aluminum Spidertrax spacers, I had no rubbing at all minus what I mentioned above. After installing spacers with Red Loctite lol, I had mad rubbing, and gotta killer BMC done by a local credited dude $300CAD cash including fender mount chop n weld n paint.

*To answer your question, yes I want 295's, or 315's, or actually I kinda want true 34's 285/75's! I've been told I've done very thing needed to fit true 35's. Check my profile for a full mod list.

I've yet to do my own fluid changes or brake pad swaps but I plan to; have self-taught myself everything I know about wrenching.
Had my trusted local shop dudes change my front and rear diff fluid today.
Next up is dealership automatic transmission WS fluid, and transfer case synthetic.

Just took the 4R down my long straight country road at the base of the mountains to engage ALL the 4WD.

Traded my buddy for his OEM TRD skidplate + RCI integration plate for my RCI skidplate. My bumper left my ac condenser exposed, and after spending a ton of money on filler plates that don't fit, I had to go back to the tRD skidplate.

I then bought a CTH knockoff version to give it a try. I am pleasantly suprised by it. i havent decided if I am going to sell one of them.

its worth it. I have both the OEM and the CTH skids and quality is definitely there for the price. The OEM skidplate is now a wall hanger.

Right now its dirt cheap. I think %15 percent off black friday and a 7% coupon i used, with free shipping.
