Got a screw in my AT3W last Saturday, which mean I have to buy an entire new set of tires.
Got hit by a truck towing a trailer on Thursday. What a freaking week.

I am hopeful I can find a somewhat local PRO owner also sick of their exhaust in the next year or so. I could get sick of it one day too, that's why I'm going to buy it off a seller, not do a straight exhaust trade or anything like that. I want the ability to return it to stock.

Rear brake pad wore through on the 2014 4Runner. Rotors already had a nice lip on them, so they were due to be replaced. This is probably the 4th set of pads. I had cleaned up the caliper pins and lubed them the last time. The unequal pad wear improved signicantly, but it’s time for new calipers.
I ordered new (reman) calipers (Raybestos), new rotors (Raybestos slotted) and pads (Raybestos
Light Truck). Left the 4R disassembled on stands at Montana home. I’ll be back on 4/5 to deal with it. Will take me less than an hour to put back together and bleed the brakes.

Quick front door speaker upgrade.
Not a 3-5k full stereo, amp + subwoofer system but a nice improvement for $100.
Kicker 46CSC6934 (Crutchfield)
The magnet on this was the size of a hockey puck vs the half dollar sized OEM speaker magnet.
Metra 72-8104 Speaker Wiring Harnesses
Metra 82-8146 Speaker Mounting Brackets
Cut a thin strip of Gorilla HD mounting tape (VHB) for my gasket between the speaker bracket and metal of the door.
Auto/Marine foam strip form Home Depot for around the outside of the speaker edge against the door panel (mimicking OEM speaker setup) I also used remaining pieces of this to wrap new harness wires to keep from rattling against metal.
Along with the Subaru Tweeter Kicker upgrade back a cpl years ago there is definitely a noticeable sound difference, good clarity and now an added low end/bass.
May do the rear doors/hatch at some point but in no rush as there's usually something packed blocking those speakers in the back.
Simple procedure and it's so much easier pulling panel straight off - after removing 3 screws and popping clips starting from the bottom, up both sides - pull towards you not up. That window piece stays in place and the panel goes back on just as easy.
I also didn't even remove the door lock or handle cables, just rested the panel on available stool.
First time I think since I was a teenager (a long time ago!) I just sat in the driveway and rocked out for a bit. :rockon:

25,393 miles-Changed oil, filter, cabin air filter (charcoal) & air filter.
Used all Toyota OEM filters and Mobil 1 0W-20.
Only suspicious part I had was the oil pan drain plug gasket. For whatever reason, when I took the drain bolt out, that blue fiberous material had come off the gasket. One part of it fell into the drain pan and the other part of it stuck to the oil pan!!! What in the world? I thought it was just some weird residue, but it wouldn't come off with some brake cleaner. So, I used a plastic scraper and it came off. There was also a weird tan colored gunk around the gasket. Against my better judgment, I put in another one (I bought a packet of 10). Going to have to really monitor it, maybe possible changing it out after a little while and once I get a REAL OEM Toyota gasket.
I bought them from Amazon and thought they were Toyota OEM. Lesson learned...

The cheapest thing is to listen to talk radio...
Seriously though, I was pretty irritated at how lousy the sound system sounds in my 2021. I thought that it would at least sound decent. I still find myself fiddling with it trying to get it to have a balanced sound. Nothing seems to make me happy. My 21 year old BMW with the standard HK audio system is head and shoulders above the Toyota system.
An audio system upgrade is a 'One of these days' mod.
But by then, my hearing will be so bad and the only thing I will listen to will be talk radio! Hahaha!

was pretty impressed with them, and after a couple days of listening to a good range of different music I ended up ordering the rear door Kickers 46CSC54 ($70) and MTX ($50) for the hatch (no Kicker option there)

Enjoyed some time outside during lunch at work pulling out the new Hella Supertone horns and replacing with horns off a Mazda CX30 off EBay. Much better tone, IMO.

I've had it at $6/month since the ending of the free period. Then, stopped when it went up to the regular $24 or something like that. After a few months, they offered $6 again and I took it. Then, stopped and now back at $4/mos.
I don't really like SiriusXm that much to be honest. But, it's an alternative. Too much junk and odd-ball live versions of songs that just plain stink sometimes. I just link my iPhone via bluetooth or Apple Car Play and listen to my tunes that way.

Oh yeah, and I came here to post that I detailed Max, my 2021 TRD ORP 4Runner. Back to it's black beautifulness. Carpets are vacuumed, floor mats have been washed, interior cleaned and protected and the glass is looking glassy!
The wheels and tires are looking much better, but still have a lot of that browning to them. Probably need to hit them with a few more treatments of the wheel cleaner.
Been using a few of Adams products lately. The Wheel and Tire Cleaner and the Mega Foam work very very well! I just got some Iron Remover too. Will give it a test drive on my 2004 BMW. That'll probably shed about 10 lbs off that car!!!

The speakers in our trucks are horrible, I've owned 3 4Runners over the years and the first mod is ALWAYS replacing the speakers with something quality

Get another wash in for me, plz. With pine pollen season starting here in NC, the most I'll be doing for the next 5 weeks or so is just rinsing yellow off .
I was just looking at these speakers today, as my front passenger one is blown and died. Did Crutchfield
include the harness and brackets?
