You know, my oldest son graduated UW already and my youngest left last year, with my permission of course, to actually become a professional gamer, playing Overwatch for Counter Logic Gaming (CLG). He's one of the best in the world and is living every kids dream.
I LOVE the StrongArm shocks! Hard to believe the rear door opens by itself now even with the window in the heaviest position! Haven't smacked my head back there since!!!

Thanks my virtual climbing bud! Hopefully you went and gave your partner a big hug and have a picture heading up there in your rig with your patch collection. My old fog lights were broken, and the plastic "valance" part of the lower bumper was also cracked and broken, so no real loss to cut it further.
1. I removed the rusted mounting brackets and lights from the bottom of the metal bumper (the brackets bolted to the bottom/inner lip of the bumper).
2. I cut off the middle valance parts that extend left & right from the two vertical supports.
3. I widened the old bracket mount holes with a step drill bit until the posts from the new led lights fit.
4. I took apart the new LEDs and put black silicone in every seal area I could, and put them back together to dry. They have a reputation for letting water in and dying. Even if they did... $18. Not bad.
5. I salvaged the electrical plugs from the old lights and soldered them to the bare wires from the new ones, used shrink tubing to cover the joints.
6. The old plugs fit back into the existing harness plugs, of course. Everything I could find about the old lights suggested they were 55w (IF they were factory, I never could tell and took the risk). The new ones were 18w so the old wiring should be fine to run them.
7. Aiming, tightening and testing. They shake a bit on bumpy roads, and they're a very, very white, diffused light - should be ok for fog, being so low and aimed down. I also have these lenses to turn them yellow, if that ends up being better: http://a.co/2vV7AwK $6.

I looked and found a $124.24 each, with a $40 VISA gift card rebate. That's still $430 for a set ($107.50 each).I'm working on a super weird vibration that is occurring on the front end while braking. I already changed the rotors and pads, and thought this was due to something in the front end, but the alignment shop just said everything looked great underneath.
I narrowed it down to something weird though...it only happens when I pump the brake pedal a few times (the pedal has always been a bit soft) and then press consistently on the brake pedal to begin stopping. It won't do it if you just press into the brake pedal to stop WITHOUT pumping the brakes first.
I changed the pads a rotors last fall, as it feels just like a warped rotor issue, EXCEPT, there is no vibration in the brake pedal. I could only suspect tie-rod ends at that point, but all is well with those.
Anyone ever heard of air in the lines causing this sort of vibration? You can feel it in the dash (putting your hand on it) and in the steering wheel, but NOT in the pedal. ??

No photos in the rig or while climbing. I do have my wedding ring on a piece of 3mm perlon on my neck at all times though. The only time it ever comes off is when I go to bed. In four years I've never once left the house without it. Today's our 4 year anniversary. I can't believe she put up with me for that long. lol
As far as the mountains and climbing goes, yeah, I've been close to the edge more then a few times. I've dialed it back since getting married but I still do things that are risky. Mitigate it when you can, move fast when you can't. Even then it's the luck of the draw. Hope that both are luck holds for many, many more years.

I don't know if DT just had extra in stock or Cooper is coming out with the AT3 2 , or another named redesign. It isn't the first tire I would have chosen but the price was too good to pass up even in the 265/75/16 size with the mild front 99 tall springs, 906 rears I have.
What I have discovered is that some A/T and M/T tires in the 265/75 size are a good bit cheaper than the stock 265/70 size. At Treadquarters, there was a price difference of over $200 on KO2s here locally.:shrug:
Since I put around 5000 miles on the 4runner yearly my Bridgestone Revos lasted almost 8 years.

I just did an OME lift,
881 - Front Coils
890 - Rear Coils
60073 - Rear Shock
90004 - Front Struts
and here is the before/after.
Very modest lift, I think, the 1999 were known for high(er) stock suspension, so it doesnt "look" way higher, but it does feel waaaaay better. Also did the LBJ and diff drop on the way.
I just did an OME lift,
881 - Front Coils
890 - Rear Coils
60073 - Rear Shock
90004 - Front Struts
and here is the before/after.

What's this called?
Could be your u-joints in the driveshaft or unbalanced tires. With truck in parked. Go under and try to move around the driveshaft and pay close attention to u-joints.

My u-joints were frozen, couldn't tell from a wiggle test. Had to drop the drive shaft to figure it out.

Obviously I'm biased but the 4runner is better in a lot of ways.
1)I have an upgraded suspension, not a body lift. His is just a body lift. This means I have waaay more comfort and flex on the trails. I'll be behind him seeing him go over rocks and he'll literally hit his head on his roof if he doesn't go slow enough.
2)I have air conditioning, he does not
3)I'm thinner, so on tight trails it's easier for me to maneuver around things trees
4)I f*ckin look cooler
Jeep:
1)Has 33" tires while I have baby 32" inch tires
2)Doesn't have carpet so he can just spray that ish out at the end of the day

Correct, on the way down there we both have walkie talkies and I have to wave my hand out the window with the walkie so he knows to put it to his ear so he can hear me. Ridiculous.
