Took my sweet time and hand washed it, thereby causing rain the next day.

Changed the oil. Nice to see that at 271,000 miles it still doesn't leak anything and doesn't burn any oil. Nice job Toyota.

I put my first aid kit in. Didn't want to drill holes so I went with heavy duty outdoor velcro pads. That way I can remove it easy as well if I need the space to slide something in there. Got tired of tying it down.

Removed my running boards from my 4runner. Took less than 30 minutes and it's a poor mans lift kit! At least visually.... now time to diagnose the t-case leak and clutch chatter

Installed an oil catch can. Figured it couldn't hurt the old girl. We'll see how it works. Picked this location because I can easily unscrew the drain plug and the oil will go straight down without hitting anything.

Cleaned it! First one since tundra/ome lift so took a lil extra time.

Will likely do some chrome deletes to address that rust. Anyone want to buy the shiney stuff?!

Picked up a 5VZ-FE for cheap off craigslist with a blown head gasket to tear it down and rebuild. First night: Got most of it torn down.

Went ahead and painted the intake a sexy black and got the whole thing degreased and ready for new gaskets. Gotta hit the junk.yard to snag a few more here and there's.
I also plan on taking the badges and either repaint them or reappropriate them.

Second pic was taken while still wet she dried to a nice smooth satin finish. Couldn't be happier. ✌

In the same boat. Just got driver side off she's cracked, and the passenger was stuck on the block because of to much RTV from previous guy. When I removed the header off the driver side head cylinder she dumped coolant for 5 mins but I and already removed the coolant along with the hoses and everything. Weird.

I think when something is cracked, the engine looks like yours because your coolant is leaking directly into the cylinder. Where as I had coolant and oil mix together to get that milkshake lookin effect.

I think when something is cracked, the engine looks like yours because your coolant is leaking directly into the cylinder. Where as I had coolant and oil mix together to get that milkshake lookin effect.

I also have the milkshake. It sat for 5 months because previous owner had many cars so by the time she got to me she had been corroding for a while already

Light traffic and cruise control! I did notice that 70 mph is the magic number. In my rig above 70 with cruise on I'm averaging ~19 mpg, below 70 I'm averaging ~22. That picture was about 80 miles after stopping for gas the last time.
