I'm almost there myself and the wheel bearings are probably going to be the next thing up... after pulling the trans cover and replacing the filter (happening tomorrow).

Put gas in it to help my sis in Charleston get out of Irma's way if it makes landfall close to there. It needed a refrigerant shot boost too.

I got me a pink milkshake in my 01. I caught it right away last week and have replaced the radiator, flushed the coolant. Then I towed it to my friends shop where he works and hooked it up to a machine to flush the tranny and then I did a drain and fill for the 11 quart system. I'm gonna do a drain and fill in a couple hundred miles along with a scheduled oil change. I've also replaced the filter and have installed a Hayden rapid cool tranny cooler. I haven't done much maintenance on it for awhile because I'm in the process of restoring and doing major modifications to my 87 Wrangler and my dad's cj7 at the same time. I'm doing 2 v8 swaps and installing waggy Dana 44s on both jeeps along with fresh paint jobs on both and other modifications and body work. Now I feel like I've screwed myself.

I'm torn between this, the Borla XR-1 (video: https://youtu.be/yopSI4OdFiw ) and the full Borla cat-back system (which I think includes the same muffler you have?).

What did you do to your 3rd gen today?
For me it was, I didn't want go back to stock when my muffler rotted out but i also didn't want it too loud and the borla 40664 is just perfect.
Cat back looks good btw but couldn't afford that [emoji1]

What was the cause? Old radiator or a faulty replacement? Also curious what tipped you off? Or was it just happenstance that you noticed?

I have been having fun recommissioning this thing though, which has also pretty much made me deaf lol.
Tiny 1.7 engine on twin webbers pushing probably no more than 100 bhp, in a 500KG car. :rockon:
I can literally touch the road without leaning over. It's terrifying.

Haha.... Barely noticeable, with widows up and radio on i can hardly hear it, but when you step on gas definitely doesn't sound stock.

Old radiator. I noticed when the transmission shifted from 1st to 2nd it would hold the gear for so long and then clunk. Right away I knew something was wrong. So then I got into it and found what happened.

anyone have anything negative to say about using Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil 75w-90 for the Front, Rear, and Transfer case? Was going to drain and fill all mine tonight and got a deal on that gear oil..

Burned out all the bushings in my rear LCAs and got them prepped for some whiteline bushings to go in this evening.
Was having some noticeable, but not terrible torque steer, and it would get pretty twitchy when loaded down and going over 70mph.
Hopefully this + new steering rack this weekend will make things feel a bit more stable. Pretty sure you shouldn't be able to see daylight through your control arm bushings.
