That's good too know it works, my plan is doing just that. 96 cubby has air compressor in it. I have a 10" wedge box in the 96 cargo area that wastes space. The cubby is bigger in the 01 so I'm good on volume.
Had thought of putting amp in cubby but heat would be a concern then. So stashing the amp under drivers seat, will save having to run heavy wires to the rear. :cheers:

I have two amps. The dedicated 1500W mono for the sub is to the left of the cubby sandwiched between the inner and outer sheet metal. It's held in by a couple self tappers through the amps "feet". It's been there for over a year and has never overheated, shut down, or made noise.

The other 1000W 4 channel is under the driver seat. That powers the door speakers. I ran 0 gauge into a 2 outlet distribution block that's also under the drivers seat. Then ran 4 gauge to the subs. If your only going to have one amp the drivers seat is fine but the rear quarter is hidden and bomber.

Yep. I have one that plugs into the back of the console. Easily one of my favorite mods. Well-designed, well-made. For a custom designed product like that $50 is a steal.

using this forum for its wealth of knowledge, I performed the front and rear diff and transfer case flush yesterday night. On a rack with a fluid pump made it even easier. And while i had it in the air, went ahead and hit all the drive train joints with the grease gun.

Only thing left to do is rear drums/shoes and maybe the right rear axle seal at some point. its either leaked from the PO, or has a very slow leak.

I just got me a new toy. Its a 96 4runner limited. I was hoping someone could guide me to what the best lift and all i will need to achieve the look and performance I'm going for!

1st- i live in south carolina so rocky trails aren't huge here but there are some in the upstate and North carolina so it will be dirt and mud mostly

2nd- I am looking for a lift and suspension that will give me enough room to run a 31 to 33x12.5 tire as well as driving nicely and will give me travel if i do run across a trail with rocks and such.

3rd- price range is anywhere from 1,000 to 1,500 us dollars for lift/suspen.
(less would always be better) haha

i have done some research and it seems that people are using different parts on the front then they do on the rear. so please any help will be greatly appreciated!!

For your budget you can look at 5100/bilsteins upfront and OME 890 rear springs with SportComp shocks (assuming no aftermarket bumpers) for a 3" lift and clear 31.5" tires no problem. Toytec can get you a package for that to your door for about $1K

Or you can look at their 3" fixed kit http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/BK9602--3-lift-ToyTecBilstein-kit-for-96-02-4Runner_p_1378.html but not if you're a 4Cyl 2WD

Not to mention about 2 hours getting the donor vehicle engine out so we can sell it. Ready to lift it out and the fork lift ran out of propane.

Just an update of the things i did this summer. Not sure what is next to come, possibly a full length roof rack and maybe a satoshi grille.
Pretty happy with the way everything turned out but not ready to spend more money yet.
