What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Got my new beadlocks on and got some body and fender trimming done. I also installed new transmission cooler (forgot to take a picture).

noclinkers what does your inner fender near the firewall look like? Have you had to clearance it a ton?

I probably took an inch out of the body Mostly towards the bottom. There is a 3/16-1/4 in gap in the body seam. I am going to go by the body shop and get some filler for it tomorrow.

My geometry is good, so I have no rear steer and the axle stuffs center of the wheel well.

I am running 37x17x12.50 Tires

Changed my plugs today to OEM NGKs. The previous owner at least got the manufacturer right... The other 5 looked the same, one being a little more burnt than the rest.

Needless to say the truck runs so much more smoothly and has tons more responsiveness. Can't wait to gain a few more MPGs too.

I noticed that my front tires are wearing unevenly after a trip to TX that put around 2000 miles on my 4Runner.

I spent the evening getting part numbers together for a new steering rack (OEM or Safari LTD), upper control arms (probably Light Racing), lower ball joints, front bearings, and maybe a couple of other things. I need to get my front end tightened up and better aligned and I'm tired of PS fluid dripping on the driveway.

on Sunday, a buddy helped me install my new Shrockworks front bumper; we pretty much followed Nick's instruction tutorial, including the frame end cap mod.

we still need to clock the winch, move the Warn solenoid under the hood, relocate the roller fairlead higher on the bumper itself, use the correct lower mounting holes to raise up the bumper on the frame brackets, locate and drill four (4) 3/8" holes to keep the bumper from rotating or shifting during winching, and figure out where/how to mount my front license plate...

Got the worse news ever... After breaking down Monday and towing the truck to the shop, found out today antifreeze in the oil... I could just about throw up

changed the oil, installed a new oil cap gasket(pn90430-37140) and wired in another high tone horn from a ford -i was able to drain and save one of the ones i took off last night, so now i have 3 ford F350 horns, 2 h, 1 l.

A long list of parts arrived:

Nitro Gear 4.88's
Morimoto projector kit
231mm Calipers
rotors
pads
aussie locker
Light racing spindle adapters
stainless steel brake lines
new 5100's(one blew out)

My next step is to install the tacoma manual hubs, upgrade the rotors and install the locker in the rear along with the 4.88's and install the new 5100's.

Yes too young! Very surprised as I have babied my girl and been so meticulous with all maintenance. Will decide what I'm going to do with her I guess.

What kind of break down was it? Overheated? Sorry to hear about this Volley.

It was strange. No overheating, codes, lights or anything and nothing picked up on my scan gauge. Was driving and noticed it felt off like she was shuddering. Started to get over to the slow lane, heard a noise then she started acting like she wanted to shut off. Got off the highway and she kept stalling. Would start back up but wouldn't stay running unless I kept the rpms up. Limped her to a gas station then had her towed. Mechanic called to say there was antifreeze in the oil...
