Would that cause it to "sputter" at around 6-700 rpms at idle?

it didn't on mine, but it could let oily stuff get into the IACV (idle air control valve) and make things act wonkey... lots of write ups about removing the IAC and cleaning it out, only 4 bolts and some tubes, cleaning it made my throttle response allot better.

I've had a Beck/Arnley PCV in for a several oil changes now, it works perfectly. It's a very simple mechanism, I don't see a need to buy OEM...

I knocked off a few projects today. I installed a new backup camera, satellite radio antenna, and license plate trim panel at the back, and then did part of the LED conversion up from, and installed a USB outlet in place of one of the power sockets.

Took a little work with the Dremel tool to get this to fit, but it turned out pretty nice.

I went out just above the 3rd brake light for the XM antenna.

Is that usb outlet this one by chance....?

And replace the hose and grommet as well! I just did this last week on mine.

15$ is cheap insurance, i spent less on one from rock-auto, and it failed on me a week later, injecting oil directly into the intake manifold and burning as i drove down the freeway. Wasn't even close to worth the the 5$ i saved the first round of PCV valve.

Yeah, that's the one I'm using. I'm going to test it today and make sure it's actually putting out as much current as it claims. My phone tells me if I'm plugged into a high current charger or not, so I'll report back. I didn't have a USB cable handy yesterday.

As I said, it requires some grinding to open the hole up, but it looks right at home once it's installed.

Pulled the number 1 spark plug to check the condition of the plugs since last recorded service was around 170k and im at 260k now. Plug looked almost new, minimal wear, normal combustion signs and clean. Also the correct NGK R twin tipped plugs. So not so concerned about needing to replace them.

Changed my inner tie rods and put Energy Suspension steering rack bushings in to replace my old worn out factory ones.

The tie rods were easy but those steering rack bushings are extremely hard to get in or out. I had to get really creative with a c-clamp.

Also busted my forehead open when the socket slipped off and whacked me in the head .

Got a low profile roof rack built and put on. I was thinking orange would break up all the black.... but not sure if I like it. I think I'll pull it and repaint it black.





Wish Low Range would get off their rear and send out my rear springs so I can put the dang lift on!

installed 42" light bar today in large part to the help I got from a friend. Wouldn't have been able to do it without him. Got it mounted and wired just before the snow fell.

Besides greatly improved steering, the next best thing about replacing your steering rack bushings—is that everything else you do on your truck seems pretty easy and straightforward...

Finally got a set of new wheels. Have been looking for a set of the Trail Team FJ rims, but they don't seem to come up very often around here so I had to settle for the Trail Edition 4Runner rims. I think it was a good choice although i do feel a little Blingy right now.
