been noticing sort of a funky smell coming from my A/C when I turn it on. I knew what it was but didn't feel like fixing it. Anyways I had enough of my car smelling like wet dog so I decided I would finally clean my blower fan. Doesn't look like it had ever been cleaned before. Cleaned it as best I could... but now I realize a tooth brush would have probably worked amazingly.

If the smell persist, you should try this evap core cleaner. You just climb under the truck and locate the Hvac drainage tube, and spray this stuff up in there. It foams up and cleans/disinfects and dislodges all the mold or whatever is in there. Then the foam turns into liquid and drains back out the tube.

You can get it at Oreilly's too.

Finally got around to replacing my Lower Ball Joints. It was acutely super easy and only took 3 hours because I rotated my tires and kept forgetting things and had to remove the ball joint to correct my mistakes.

Ill be driving down to denver tomorrow So ill stop by firestone and use my lifetime alignment again

Also got around to fixing the crappy radio reception I had ever since I replaced my stereo with an aftermarket unit. I didn't know at the time I installed it—that 4runners have two radio antennas, the regular one and the rear window one. Had to buy a couple adapters to unify the two cables so I could plug them into the sole antennae slot on the radio.

Much better reception now

Where did you get these from? I'm about to take all of that apart to fix my LEDs and would like to use both antennas while everything is apart

Changed oil, rear axle, front axle, and transfer case fluid with Mobil 1. Did a very thorough radiator flush and fill. Replaced the TPS. Did the deck plate mod. Seafoamed the crap out of the motor (so nice and shiny inside now). Greased all of my u-joints and slip yokes. And discovered my heater core is busted. Oh well. Still drove it to work today. Going to discount to get the tires rebalanced on a different machine because there is still a wicked vibration above 70mph. Last ditch effort before dropping the $200 on the driveshaft balance and u-joint replacement. Spent close to $500 on tune up and maintenance so far and it's still not where I want it to be but I still enjoy driving it.

Not today, but recently...
Washed and waxed for the first time ever.
Pressed out a couple dents, poorly.
Cleaned throttle body and MAF.
Installed front coilover lift. I hope to finish the rear part of the lift tonight Should be 3"+ in front and 4.5" in rear. Seems really high (for me), but I still can't wait to get it done!

Nothing exciting for the 96.

Trimmed the home made mud flaps to go with the 4xInnovations bumper. May have to get something to cover below the bumper. Don't have to have them, but don't want to throw any rocks at anybody, either.

Got a 4" drop/rise 6" hitch extender to get the bike rack to work with the spare tire. Low for everyday will allow the spare carrier to open with the bike rack on, high for those bumpy bumpy roads we sometimes get to take though the rack would have to come off if I had to open the hatch. I'd still rather have a left-hand swing away rack, I think, but this'll do for now.

Had a Borla Pro XS 19" muffler installed on my 4Runner. Sounds awesome (not too loud) and will be tracking my MPG's to see if they change at all. Currently sitting at 18.1 on Fuelly. Hopefully this will be a "free" upgrade for more HP and an awesome sound that will pay dividends in the future!

Also, I see you mentioned that you want to "fix" your dash LEDs. Are they burning out on you? I've considered replacing my gauge cluster bulbs with brighter white LED bulbs, but haven't yet because it's not worth it if there are hotspots and bulb life longevity issues. I don't want to have to replace them every year or two. How long did your bulbs last?

Thanks! After I installed them I had some that started flickering so I bought some dielectric grease so I'm hoping that will help. None have burned out so far I think the connection needs some help. I got Samsung LEDs from auto illumination and have been very happy with them so far. Here's a crappy picture of how they turned out

You can hardly hear it at idle, it's a very faint rumble. I revved it to 3k RPM and then up to 5.5k. Please excuse the hard start and supercharger whine. The engine is just as loud as the muffler, so that gives a good impression on sound levels. It's much quieter than a Borla XR-1, those basically have no sound deadening material.

It's never too late to find out something new, even if the boat gets missed. It can always be filed away for laters.

I actually got to try a glideaway rack- too short, but excellent try.
The MWE Bladerunner base is exactly what I'm looking for. Can swing out left, not too short (I think) and can be used with the Thule Parkway that I already have. That is truly an excellent find. I like it. I want it.
There's just one problem.

HOW IN THE HECK CAN SOMETHING LIKE THAT COST $549???

That's just the arm. Yep. These are the times I wonder when I'm gonna just get off my rear end and learn how to stick metal bits together! Well, that and all the other workings involved. If I were to get a second bike set-up it would cost a bit over $800. (rack,arm,extension) It's gonna take a long time to come up with that sort of scratch, especially as it's do not pay the lunch lady season.

My golden egg laying process is slow, but my two year old had an excellent potty training day so that's good.

Drove it to the local dealership to help my Mom decide on a Rav4 color she liked lol. But, on a whim I stopped by the Service dept and was able to get a complete service history for my ride all the way to 2003. Now have a rough idea how it was treated the 9.5 years before I bought it (pretty decent thank goodness!) '99-'03 remains a mystery.

what kind of switch housing are you waiting for ?

Standard single switch housing. This one. Supposed to arrive sometime "between July 5 and August 15." Irritating.

And here's the switch I used. Works like a charm. Tried to find something illuminated, but no luck.

I'm mounting mine high and towards the center so that it isn't blocked off by the sleeping platform that's further down on my to-do list. Not worried about something bumping it, the window controller requires the button to be down for ~1 sec before it starts raising or lowering.
