What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

What you set them at? I'm messaging with Haddix over on TW who use to have a 3rd gen with SAW's. Now he has a Taco with them. He measured them for me and he said from the top they're slightly over 2" of thread showing. I haven't found out yet how high of lift he's achieving with that. I'm guessing around 2.5"s

I'm not sure, but I can measure tomorrow. I'm going to raise mine a bit more as it is the same lift as my Tundra TRD's. I'd say around 2 inches of thread, but I also have 600 lb coils.
They're just plastic self tapping screws. I was going to suggest trying a new screwdriver and some patience but if you've already taken a drill to it that's not going to work! If you can get the heads off you can twist the remaining out with some pliers and just use a self-tapping plastic screw to re-fasten. You can also use a wood screw or a sheet metal screw in a pinch.
The past few days:
changed the oil and air filter
Pulled 100' of useless XM radio wiring out of the dash, reconnected the lighter plug, fixed the broken dash vent (All of that was a nice hack job courtesy of a previous owner)
Put in a new battery
Replaced the rear washer pump, fixed the mounts for the washer bottle and got it mounted properly.
Attempted to change the rear wiper blade and discovered the "universal" blade I bought is for a different universe.

good hell i'm going crazy here. I may need some good humor or comfort here. I'm not one to break the law but today and forever now i'm "breakin the law"
So after getting in my 4runner in the mid afternoon today I noticed it was bloody hot. I even had my windshield shade up and i decided my 40% tint was not good enough. So I went to a shop just asking for an estimate and ended up getting some 20% action on there. I seriously feel like a 12 year old that jsut stole a beer. I'm so freaking out! but at least it looks cool lol

Looks good, I wish I could have windows that dark here.

yeah Its not legal here either. 40% is the max, but I see so many people with way darker tint. I think/hope the only thing i have to worry about is passing inspection. Gosh this makes such a difference though. I've always wanted to rebel a little lol!

Haha, didn't notice you live in Utah. We had 30% on our Honda and the shop doing our safety test made us take it off.
The crappy thing is that I now know a couple places that will overlook tint, oh well.

dang that sucks, but its good to know those shops man, I wish my options were a little more open.
I've been taking mine to this one in AF for the last few years and he has overlooked my tinted signals and marker lights every time, I may have to try and slip him some cash to pass the windows.
the laws here are so stupid, Its still a desert like nevada and still there is no love at all. 40% sucks!

you guys made me think about my 02 4runner sport, that my ex wife stole while i was in traffic court and sold it....crazy biT*H!! but i had it tinted out here in KY! it was 5% tint all around and 40& down the front windshield....u could come up and stick ur face to the front windshield and not see in!!! was bad ass on the blk!! hard to drive at night but loved it...just had to get good headlight, fog lights stayed on, and of course had to buy extra set of backup lights!! but worth it....i slipped the tint dude and extra 100$ for this!!!! I also had it on the 94 4runner i had the same way....love my tint guy in kY!!
edit: the sun roof is actually open in the pic of my 02. i added a pic of it with all the windows up and sunroof closed...i even had them tint the sunroof with 5% so that i could leave the sunroof cover back!

dang T4Rex those look so sick! having darker tint is so nice, I pretty sure it was much cooler inside after sitting in the sun all day compared to when i only had the 40% on there. A world of difference! I couldn't imagine what 5% would be like man why to tint laws exist!! dah

I washed the 4runner today, took all day. I washed it, used a clay bar, used a paint cleaner, polished it, and then waxed it! My forearms are killing me! 
Anyone know of a good cheap dual action polisher? I'm not doing it by hand next time! You can see some scratches (as in torn plastic) on the fenders, it's a 15 year old truck so I did the best I could.

Can you explain what you did? The motor on my antenna broke and every time I turn the truck on or off the antenna tries to go down and for like 60 seconds makes a loud annoying noise. How do I make the antenna still function but be a manual antenna?
Mine was doing the same thing. Annoying and embarrassing.
I didn't do anything fancy- I could pull the antenna up and down by hand on mine- but I suppose that might depend how the track broke. Only way to be sure is try it and see.
From there, just open up the RH fender well (check the tacoma whip-mod threads if you're not sure how to do that) and simply unplug the motor wire. If you intend to fix it again at some point you might want to cover off the plugs to help prevent corrosion. Put the fender wall back and you're done!
Antenna is a easy fix, bought a new antenna mass from dealer ,$50-65. Loosen up the round nut with grooves in them ( located at the bottom end of the antenna) , turn on your radio so that it raises antenna and just pull out the antenna. To install new antenna do the opposite: put antenna wire back in the hole, turn off radio so it hooks onto the antenna wire to pull it down, then tighten the antenna mount back on.
