Well today is the day I really start tracking my MPGs. My last fill up till now with gas light on was 178 miles. 6 miles to and from work with 10-20 mins of remote start time. 14.5 gals to fill up. UG says 13.6 MPGs. We'll se what the next tank says.

14.5 gallons for 178 miles is 12.27 MPG. 10-20 mins of idling is definitely hurting your FE. 1 minute is all it really needs on the coldest days. Above freezing or so...get in and drive it.

....And don't make this thread about FE! We have enough of those already! :frog:

For real dude. 10-20 minutes? that's ridiculous.

Back on topic, I cleaned my MAF and Throttle body.

Don't forget new drive belts, unless they have been changed before. And some new coolant.

Let's hope the job goes easier for you than the LBJ install did initially.

Almost flipped mine into my creek tonight. backing through and just missed the gravel, ground gave way next to the culvert and i backed over the gap. Had to get a wrecker.... almost lost her to the abyss that is my drainage ditch

that looks kinda fun but scary as well...lol glad u got her recovered

I dont have the lights installed -yet i'm either in need of summer to be here NOW! or a very heated garage..

but i have my bumpers and sliders installed.. not too happy with some of the works but see for yourself coming right up

Drive belts are new(PO) and I won't be doing this job.paying to have it done :behindsofa: It's way over my head

Finally got everything installed!!

So why am i so pissed off??
The only part that i am whining about is the rear bumper... take a look at the space between the body and where the bumper comes out. I'll include all the pics i took today i'll take better ones during the weekend. I hav a call into them but if i dont hear from them i'll call them again tomorow.

^^^^ I know you already complained about the bedliner application and I completely agree....he did a piss poor job. I've done way better than that in my shop. Also, you spent way too much on that rear bumper to have it come out like that. Sorry man!

Thanks for the thoughts... they will get a phone call from me shortly... but sadly, thats where it will end... I tried to think everything through.. i guess i just screwed up.The pics really dont do the work justice- or IN justice in this case..I also think heard that some people have the bumpers like that so if you are rock crawlin the rock will catch the front bumper roll along the rock rails then to the kick out and lastly to the rear. I might have just ordered the wrong bumper.. I swear i spoke to the Manufacturer about this though.

The guy(rhino coater) was working outside in a fashioned canvas tent it was cold and i did feel sorry for the guy his phone kept ringing he was doing 3 jobs at one time, the dealers were calling oh, and then there was me .rather than concentrating on one job here the contractors take on as much work as then can and then - well you know.. the work suffers.. and so do i. ...


The coating needs to be cleaned up but the spot to the left is very irritating to me. I think that there were options about the way the bumper sits out I might have pick the wrong option. I looked at "4runit" my bumper was supposed to look and site like his... I might ask him to take a snap of the way his sits... but i might not want to know. I dont like throwing out numbers but if you are interested i'll send them in my next post- that is if i dont thrown myself infront of my own truck.

Who is the manufacturer?

My great Savage Offroad was $450 and I picked it up locally in Riverside.
$150 to have it powder-coated by San Diego Powder Coating, located in El Cajon.

dude id be pissed man, thats a piss poor bumper. i have heard of other people having issues with perkins... i think from what i have heard and seen first hand of their stuff i would never give them my business. i think id rather leave things stock than deal with them. [MENTION=32177]A10MileHusker[/MENTION] had some issues with them when he ordered his front bumper from them, they made the wrong bumper, dragged their feet on making that one, and the second bumper(the right one) and once he got it, i was not impressed with the welds at all, and they cut things too short, filled the gaps with welds and the angles on his hoops where not the same(i could eye ball it). i will give perkins that the bumper bolted right up with no issues, but thats it.

im sorry you have had issues with them, i hope they make it right, but i fear that they will just say sorry and walk away... their customer service is nothing to wright home about in my opinion.

‎4WheelParts.com is on my sh*t list, ordered DayStar lift 3 weeks ago, had to e-mail and call to where my shipment was: answer - oh we don't have it in stock and it's on backorder from DayStar, ok why not have this on your website and call or email me this info instead of my having to call and email a couple times every week (3 weeks) to get status updates. :SMH:
Guess they forget I have quite a few places to choose to order from and was deciding to give them a shot, well they helped me with that decision w/ the poor communication skills.

I can understand on if it was told to me in advance you'll have to wait this long while product is being produced, then I'd be ok w/ it but then again you'd have to communicate w/ the customer. .

How can having one side of your rear bumper stick much farther out than the other even be an option? Perkins screwed up. I would definitely be getting that fixed.

Wow. They REALLY messed up your rear bumper. Hope you can get it resolved with a new one. The front bumper and the sliders look great though gig. And yeah, very poor job on the rear bumper rhino coating.... ugh I feel for ya man, I would be pissed! Good luck with getting everything resolved and keep us updated.

always got something to do to the 4runner layball:

I got some engery whatever bushings today and put them in my longer end links. The links are a lot more snug now. for some reason the new 2nd gen rear end links i picked up had a lot of play in them. The top nut could only go so far which didn't tighten all the way.

Oh... and i also ordered some 5125 Bille's from Toytec! A local 4x4 shop hooked me up. They're going to install them for super cheap too

I feel for my self! we have snow today which is a good thing so this way i dont have to look at my truck. all these years i had a factory bumper on and was happy... I come to this site and see the wonderful and beautiful things i can do.. and all of a sudden it's simply not good enough anymore... I start a list find a Empty Card and off i go... I thought i was doing the right thing... i mean after all the other guys did it so why would it not work for me?

I know i was making excuses for some of the work that was being done.. so they get a pass and i get Sub par work. I am not sure what can be done... I called them today but he was out of the office. I'll try them again tomorow. I would like to see a new bumper but i dont think that will happen.. you guys know what kind of steel is used in these bumpers Can they be heated up and re formed? I realize that the coating will have to be re applied too.. I mean i saw this guys work on another truck it was flawless.. but not this time
