Threw stock suspension back on along with old rims and tires, wife is 23 weeks prego and could no longer get in and out of the 4runner. Offered her a stepstool in the back seat, she wasnt buying it. So no serious fun for a while.

Yeah, I got her good not long ago. Bought her the shirt shortly afterwards.

Saw the grocery list sitting on the kitchen counter. I added two items: updog and fish. Then I forgot about it for a few days.

Later that week, she called me after work. Said she was going to the grocery store. Asked me in an uncertain voice "what is updog"?

I couldn't have been more happy. I paused for a few seconds, and said "not much, what's up with you?"

Later, over dinner, I relived the moment with her. Laughed till I cried. I think the long game coming back days later made it so much funnier to me.

Bought it.

Well, yesterday actually! Today was fixing the little stuff that needed attention. Fuel filter, cleaned the MAF and throttle body, and new wipers. Also pulled the EFI relay to let it reset for it's new owner.

Also fixed the hood latch the hood release lever was stuck in the open position not allowing the hood to stay shut.

How did you fix you hood latch? I went off roading today and well long story short my battery got loose and clunked around for awhile until I realized it was loose.

On the way home in realize now my hood is loose. When I shut it, it appears to latch down but in reality it has about 3/4" to 1" of play. Also when I go to release it, I no longer hear the normal clank of the hood release.

Any input would be great. I don't have any pics but I inspected it and everything looks normal and not different or bent.

Welded sliders onto the truck, installed new exhaust, rebooted passenger CV, fabbed up some bump stop platforms, installed new bump stops, and today the launch controls go in. Busy busy weekend.

On the way home in realize now my hood is loose. When I shut it, it appears to latch down but in reality it has about 3/4" to 1" of play.

FIXED!

I seem to have fixed this by beating the latch mechanism caveman style. I think it was stuck or something; there are only a few visible parts.

Got walked by a factory 4th gen 4runner. My slow mobile with factory gears gets walked by everything, so I have no fear anymore. It all started when I got stomped by a Prius at a red light. Ever since then, I just toy with people.

I need to S/C and re-gear, along with all of the fuel mods, and then I will get serious, and go all out... (With a helmet, flame retardant jumpsuit, and roll-cage)

Picked up almost 40 seconds on my swim time and over 4 minutes on the bike compared to last year!

I had to WD-40 the hell out of the release. If you look under the hook there is a cable. That is the release cable. Try pushing down on it with a flat head screw driver it should retract. Then pull the hood release again and keep doing the whole process over and over with WD-40 it will loosen up and the hood release will retract everytime.
