Thanks. I plan to start a full build thread soon. I'll include some info in that. It has been about 2 months from concept to completion. A lot of planning and a whole lot of trial and error.

It looks like a cool very project but that steel box isn't very safe for the 6th passenger.

Even locked down well (and im sure it is based on the pic) if you get rear ended our hit from the side, person #6 is likely (good possibility of happening) to brain themselves on it. In accidents, even ones at 20 mph bodies move around a lot, despite the seat belt. Without the box it is probably OK.

getting ready for this big winter! It's already showing snow in the mountains so today and yesterday I washed, clay-bared, polished waxed, sanded some rust underneath then treatment with the rattle can and some "Gunk"




i know the paint wont last long, but hopefully with the gunk stuff it will get me through the winter

also ordered some weathertech floor mats, possibly going to order a light bar, and lets see, all kinds of other stuff

Removed my front tint. It's bothered me for a year! Looking for a place now to have it redone.

Pulled my LX450 coils and installed OME 861's. So far the ride is much nicer on pavement. Later this week I'll test the sag from towing as well as get off the pavement and in the back country.

Ordered my lift. Eibach 3" coils up front with Tundra 5100s. OME 890 in the rear and I will run my current Rough Country N2.0 shocks with them for now. If they are not stiff enough I will get 5125 Bilsteins later. Can't wait to install it. I'm tired of driving around on worn out coils and struts.

ECGS, I didn't want the hassle of buying parts and trying to find a qualified tech to install them locally (for a reasonable price / one that would compare to ECGS).

Finally installed the console from an '01 into my wife's '98...she's pretty happy she has cup holders now.



I had to move the ECT and rear window switches. They were a bit of a pain since they were taped together with the ebrake sensor and the rear heat wiring. So I made a spot on the side of the console. The brake lever doesn't come up high enough to hit the switch, so it worked out well.

Oil change, tranny drain and fill, PVC valve replaced, check brake and power steering fluids, fuel filter, reinstall sway bar links

Tomorrow new radiator (fingers crossed), cap, hoses, thermostat, coolant and belts.

removed more fake wood from the dash. also removed the runningboards today

Plasti-dipped all badges, got a little crazy with it and ended up dipping my wheels as well and dipping the fake skid plate. Went wheeling on some of my property and bent up the fake skid so it's no long on the 4runner.
