I found them at a local junkyard for $42 for 3!!!
But discount tire lost two of mine so they are reimbursing me. So they were free.

Hello, new to the forum. I recently bought a 1997 4Runner Limited and started reading all the tips/tricks you guys have provided. Good times.
I read about swapping the driver/passenger seat cushions, so I started that last night. It was good to pull them out and thoroughly clean out 16 years of accumulated crap. Got the front seats out after breaking one of the anchor bolts in half on the driver seat...rust had totally choked it up. Drilled out a new hole for a slightly smaller bolt, should be fine.
Thought it was crazy how much bigger the passenger seat was (pic included). I'm guessing that seat only has 30-50k ass miles on it instead of the 174k of compression on the driver's seat. Gonna get that back in this afternoon.
Also came up with a redneck fix for the broken electric motor under the passenger seat (2 pics). When I pulled the seat cushion off, I discovered the white plastic collar that connected the motor to the outboard jackscrew had snapped off. It was literally 2 zip ties away from reseating the broken plastic collar and stabilizing it against the seat frame. 100% functional again, no visible zip ties once I get the seat cushion repaired and put back on.
The seat cushion swap was as easy as advertised... once you get the seats out, only a couple screws holding in the plastic side covers. 4 bolts hold each seat cover on, pretty easy for hopefully a much more comfortable ride.
Thanks for the tips, I'm going to keep reading. I like what you guys have done with painting rims; mine look like shit right now.

I didn't realize this was possible. Toyota lists them as two separate part #s.

I don't have any knowledge on the different part numbers for the seat cushions. I do know that the seat cushion sizes and bolt positions (on the corners of the cushions) are identical. I swapped the entire cushion after removing the 4 bolts on the corners that hold the cushion into the seat frame. I've already fitted each cushion on its new seat... Just took the old driver's seat cushion back off the pax seat to repair the tear created from normal wear. Here's a pic of the driver's seat with the passenger seat cushion.

crap, I didn't know you could do that either. I just had both my seats out to put in the heated seating elements and would've swapped them.
I also stripped a bolt and had to weld a new nut to the floor board.
. Now am just waiting for them to be changed

Opened up and painted the housing of my spare set of turn signals today as an experiment. I actually really like them and they are still plenty bright.

Got an alignment and my wheels balanced
I watched them balance the tires perfectly with the hunter machine and that plate. Funny thing they were considerably off balance and I had them done at another place that has same equipment.
It was cool watching him do the alignment. It took all of about 15 mins. When I walked out he had the caster both dead at 4 and camber dead at 0 right toe was good but started tweeking the left to get .02. When it was done this is what i got. He said they changed a bit because he had to go back through and if I don't like it bring it back for free.
Rides like a champ now. As I was talking to the shop foreman the tech says " you want caster? I look over and see 6.2 on the screen. :wow2: but I asked for 4.
