Cleaned the MAF and removed and cleaned the throttle body. Upon seeing that the thing was completely black on both sides I also removed the idle air control unit and cleaned that all out too. The intake resonator had about half a quart of oil in it. Bad pcv valve probably.

Finished off with a new set of spark plugs. The previous owner had the wrong plugs in it, they were about 1/8" shorter than the proper ones and were standard single ground plugs. Also the gap was nearly twice what it was supposed to be.

Put everything all back together and drove around for half an hour. Did some highway runs and drove around town, went off roading for a bit in some new snow. No noticeable difference whatsoever, still a gutless pig. Parked it back in the wifes garage.

rear hatch lock (3rd generation)

I fixed my rear hatch lock. The rear lock depends on two plastic posts from
the license assembly(weak link). It had pushed through but was still attached inside with the linkage. If anyone wants to take it on, it really wasnt so bad. I did purchase clips from toyota to make the reassembly easier. A new license assembly costs too much and the fix wasnt terrible if you are fairly mechanical.

There are many options but it really depends on what you want and how much work you want to do to get it. The easiest thing to do is the Mini H1 kit that he linked to you. When ordering the kit all you need to do is select the shrouds you want (Projector Shrouds from The Retrofit Source Inc) and select the 9003/h4 bulb connection. Everything you need to do the retrofit will be included in the kit. Mini H1's are really easy to do, all you need to do is open up the head light remove the little thing that covers the light bulb and then screw in the projector using the hardware provided.

After reading all positive reviews on the tires, I'm not overly impressed. Good on soft snow, bad on ice and slush. Even deeper snow. First set of snow tires and I'm wondering what the rave is about?

This is the first time I've ran them so I'm not sure what to expect. I've ran Blizzak DMV1s before and those were amazing. But, they don't make them in the size I wanted so I decided to give these a go. They will for sure be better than my KM2s, that's all I know. Those are only good when they are aired down to 8psi hwell:
