What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I just couldn't afford the gas anymore (14 highway). I'm going to test the waters in the Subaru world for awhile. I found an extremely low miles manual 5-speed 2005 Forester XT, which is a Forester with the 2.5L Turbocharged WRX engine (but with full leather, heated seats and massive sunroof). I'll probably end up back in a 3rd gen before too long though, but I need this Forester's 30 mpg highway until I finish my out of state education. Plus the speed and endless mods for it will be a ton of fun. Eventually my goal is to have a built Toyota and a quick Subaru.

Yeah I plan on "trying" to leave it mostly stock. Hopefully I can eventually get it running 15 pounds like the stock wrx instead of 11 pounds. Maybe an STI turbo and tmic, Borla hush exhaust, and lowering springs. But a full stereo overhaul comes first. Probably will happen the day I get it home. :hungry:

Yeah, VF48 or 52 (VF39 Cracks housing all the time, But it's still a good turbo without a lot of lag). Don't forget about stopping power, and upgrade your brakes/lines. IMHO Stereo/weight should come last but it's your Subie, sir.. Enjoy it!!!

Rated at 23,500 lumens and this thing is BRIGHT. I was expecting a lot and I was still blown away.

The mounting process was relatively simple, although I wish that the wire connected to the light wasn't in the center of the light, I'd rather have it on the end so that you wouldn't have to drill a hole in the center of the roof. This didn't make it any harder though, so it's not really a complaint.

In my garage because I don't have any night time output shots yet...

My factory horns sounded like shit so I ordered some knockoff hella horns on ebay. Probably my most favorite and the easiest mod I have done. They mounted in the factory location and I didn't even have to cut the factory harness, I just had to run a ground for the horns. Recommended upgrade for any vehicle.

Let me know if you can get 30mpg out of it, the best I ever got out of our 5-speed XT was 25.5 MPG, and that was driving it like I had an egg between the bottom of my foot and the accelerator.

:rockon: Big thanks to [MENTION=64583]JohnBill53[/MENTION] got the wheels painted and ready for install tomorrow.
Also broke out the girlfriend's nail polish remover to get rid of gunk in the windshield left from an old phone stand.

Wanted a set of wheels to compliment the SURF stickers and my black and gold theme. After looking for a while I settled on a set of 01, 02 wheels that I came across on Craigslist here in Atlanta. :whoo:

Tomorrow wheels, wash and bug deflector then next weekend lift, suspension install painted parts :girl:and sway bar bushings. Cheers!

Cool though. We just leased a brand new Impreza sport hatchback and love it. Its amazing in the snow/ice, gets great highway mileage, and one day when its paid for will hopefully have a turbo to wake it up

Installed a new component speaker system today. It's the Rockford Fosgate Prime system...sounds awesome. I set the woofers in the door for mid range so my sub picks up the lows...got everything dialed in nicely.





I also redid my sub under my seat. I took my seat out, cleaned up the wiring, and turned the sub 180*...now it's easier to get to the controls when I need to.

Totalled it most likely. No one injured. Runner seems pretty wrecked in the rear. Got sandwiched between a Dodge and a Semi bumper due to malfunctioning traffic lights. Time for a new Runner.

I did have to trim the panel. I used a knife to cut the grille part out, them a dremel to widen the whole about 1/4" all around. The new tweeter actually mounts to the panel, not the door like the stock tweeter.

And good call on the shoes! They're then reissue nike did this year with the full air sole. I've got quite a collection as well...pretty sure I've got more than my wife. Like I tell her though, better to spend $ on my truck and on shoes than on hookers and coke!

I thought they were the 95 with the 360 sole, pretty cool looking. I've got a few of the 90s also, my personal favorite. I dont have more than my wife though, thats for sure. lol.

now i havent seen anyone else with their products so are they new? also i was looking at some of the other well-known brands and they are wayyy more expensive... why is this so much cheaper yet has a higher lumens output? aka what am i missing haha
