You are correct. My mistake.

I don't have a massive need for rock protection. The offroading I do is pretty mellow. Being a daily driver I don't want to put myself in a situation that I wreck my only vehicle.

The load range E sucks.

The KM2's are pretty cheap and I wouldn't use them in winter (I have Yoko winter tires for that).

Still something I'm considering though.

I just couldn't afford the gas anymore (14 highway). I'm going to test the waters in the Subaru world for awhile. I found an extremely low miles manual 5-speed 2005 Forester XT, which is a Forester with the 2.5L Turbocharged WRX engine (but with full leather, heated seats and massive sunroof). I'll probably end up back in a 3rd gen before too long though, but I need this Forester's 30 mpg highway until I finish my out of state education. Plus the speed and endless mods for it will be a ton of fun. Eventually my goal is to have a built Toyota and a quick Subaru.

My wife drives a 2005, 5 speed Forester XT and me a 5 speed 3rd gen 4Runner. Between the two we have a lot of basis covered except people holding. Our family of 4 maxes them out but we can still get from A to B loaded up.

I just got 30 mpg on the Forester carrying an average speed of 75 mph. I'd say half of one tank was at about 82 mph on mostly flat highway. In stock form it's much faster and responsive than the 4Runner and is fun to drive.

Enjoy the Subaru. There are a lot of mods, friendly forums and fun to be had.

Finally installed my 4.88 front w/ ARB, still need to order some parts to get it plumbed. Picked up an OTRTTW 3 switch panel to mount front, rear, compressor switch in single location. Also picked up an MV50 compressor as temp oba

Over the last few days I've installed my body lift and hood deflector thing , a important note for people with a 4xinnovations front bumper , you didn't need to remove it when putting on the body lift ! Saving a lot of time

PROS:
The narrow width of the tire makes the contact pressure on these way up there. Allowing what seems like an uncanny amount of traction in situations where the pizza cutters seem to outgrip and climb where others slip and struggle. I owned a set myself and always like them, a couple buddies have them currently and love them also. Thinner tread width keeps rubbing to a minimum. As far as I know every tire available in this size is a load range E.

As far as I know every tire available in this size is a load range E. They definitely take some time to break in, and they do. The narrow overall width leaves pretty much zero protection for your rims from rocks (curbs in your case). The tire selection in the size is pretty slim, and not the cheapest at that.

I like them, but wouldnt run them based on the reasons above.

Ain't nobody got time for rim protection in the rocks unless your runnin new fancy rims lol! Just cuz the runner will out mall crawl yours lol!

The Maxxis Bighorn comes in a 255/85R16 Load Range D, I have a lot of friends who run the KM2's and love them. The load range E is stout and while you don't get much sidewall deformation at low pressure the sidewall can take some serious damage which is great if you're crawling in an area with jagged edges. Just my

I got my bumper back from powder coat, so I put that on as well as some clear corners and clear turn signals. The turn signals blink amber...

Also got my sliders coated, just haven't had time to get them put on.

looks good, color matched bumpers seem to be the big thing with silver t4rs, and it looks really clean!
also i think everyone who has a 4xinnovations bumper is running the same fog lights haha, what you gotta be careful about at least for mine that i got from pepboys is that they have a hole in them and somehow mine got water in them, maybe its the way i mounted them?

I have to give credit to Ripcord. I got the fog light model from his build thread and ordered them from amazon. I don't recall a hole but I'll have to watch out for the water issue. That is if it ever rains again in Cali.
