I installed OME 906 springs today to cure my rear end sag.

A few months ago I replaced the front struts and rear shocks, and I had some sag in the rear.

After the 906 springs, I think it looks perfect now. A slight rake, which is fine by me because I carry things and tow often.

This is with Monroe OE replacement shocks.










I also replaced the spark plugs. I noticed the plugs that were in there were only single prong, not dual like required. Not sure how big of a deal that is.

Installed rear bump stops from a s10 blazer. Much longer than our stock stops. Painted the rubber portion red.

I have been doing a lot of work lately. Plugs, wires, rear drums, shoes, hardware and bellcranks, re-torque valve covers, grease driveline, extended rear swaybar endlinks, new tires.....

To come, exhaust, O2 sensors, CV boots, bump the 5100's up a notch in the front.....

And because it is the right thing to do, some pics of the new tires: 235/85 Cooper ST MAXX.

For me it's a matter of sickness I think. I am addicted to LED lighting.........someone call a shrink. While I wait for a referral, here is what I did over the weekend. I have two kids that constantly lose stuff in the back seat in the dark. The overhead lighting is pretty weak so I upgrade it to LED. But, I could not stop there.....I added two LED bulbs to the ashtray. The ashtray pulls out and they have a corded flashlight that has about two feet of lead on it to find their way.

Did I stop there? Oh no way.......

Under the hood, there is no light at all. Not sure if there is in a Limited but not in my '99SR5, but wait..........there is now!!

Once in a completely dark abyss, now in a bright as daytime light house!

Enough you say, right? OH NO NO NO!!!! A while back I installed the Pioneer AppRadio3 which has a gorgeous 7" display with optional backup camera. Optional by hiney!! Of course I installed it. However, in the dark alleys that I roam, I found the camera CMOS was not quite up to snuff to completely illuminate the area for a bright clear picture......VOILA!!

Since my street is lit nicely with bright LED lamps, I could not really demonstrate their amazing power, but trust me when I say, everyone knows when I am backing up.

Finally, thanks to member "UnderFire," I purchased a complete wood grain dash kit for $200 *shipped! Thanks UnderFire! I anxiously await the final piece, but in the meantime, I got the switch panels installed and the main dash components and key area. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

There will be more to come because I can't stop working on this truck. Everything I do adds more personal touch and appeal (to some) and I love to tinker. Hope you enjoyed seeing my little upgrades.

I plan to do just that. I found it very hard to find useful info on these in winter conditions. Almost all of the info I could find had to do with either wheeling in the snow or winter driving in places that don't reach the frigid temperatures that I get where I am. I was running the same size General Grabber AT2's before these so I will compare the two after this winter.

Thanks! They are not the most simple ones available. Not sure the picture will show you but there is a weatherproof rubber cover that surrounds the strip. I have more of this that I use on the inside of the car that does not have this covering. This one is specifically designed for outdoor use. So far it has held up great. This part of the project has been done for a few months, I just lumped it in with the other light work I did over the weekend.

I love the LED strip under the hood. I was shocked to learn that there is no lighting under my hood as well. Was debating what I wanted to do about that.. Also being an LED addict.. I think I have a solid contender for what I want to do. Thanks!

Added some DIY mudflaps and fender extensions - having removed my running boards I was getting large amounts of sand, mud etc. flinging all over the show.

Rear to be fitted next, it's a little trickier due to the existing mudflap, I'll have to make up some angle brackets. The fronts all just riveted straight on.

Flaps are just plain rubber sheet, 4.5mm thick. Going to add the aluminium or steel strip on the bottom to weigh em down and make them look more factory. Fender extensions were from a local shop, $12ish/m. Total cost for enough for front and rear, mudflaps and extensions is around $100.

Replaced the radiator. It started leaking today. Knew it was going to happen soon but dam 4 days after i got it.:mmph: I also flushed the coolant and replaced the OE hoses. It got 255k out of the OE radiator and hoses so not too shabby at all. I also pressure washed the engine top to bottom and replaced the front turn signal bulbs. One was burnt out and the other was clear not orange like they should be. Now to fix the brakes replace lower control arm bushing and change the rest of the fuilds. And i mean ALL the fuilds :shocked:
