You should have seen the ported wall in my BMW... woofers were behind the headrests firing forward, ports fired between the front seats. Did 154dbs@38hz and I drove it daily and listened to it loud every time I drove it. Low frequency hearing loss doesn't effect you the way most people think it does. You seldom use the sub 60hz range anyways.

Installed my Light Racing UCAs. Wow what a difference it drives so smooth and tracks even straighter than before... This coupled with the complete redo of the lower front end last fall and this truck is a pleasure to drive once again!

I guess I should have said, I feel sorry for your neighbors.

It's not so much frequency but sound pressure. Anything above 85 db can cause damage. Since you're 32 years old, I thought that phase would be gone especially when you can't use your 4runner for anything.

Yea, LOL. When I was a kid I loved my bumps. Now that im old I find myself getting mad at the guy next to me bumping.

I used to compete in sound offs when I was a teenager all the way to my upper twenties. Now that I'm old I just look for crisp and tight bump. I run 1 12" TREO DVC sub in a ported box. I'm really looking to get 1 10" or 2 8" JLs so I can clean the cargo area up.

I used to compete in sound offs when I was a teenager all the way to my upper twenties. Now that I'm old I just look for crisp and tight bump. I run 1 12" TREO DVC sub in a ported box. I'm really looking to get 1 10" or 2 8" JLs so I can clean the cargo area up.

I tried 1 10" JL & it wasn't enough. It didn't give you that thump in the chest.
I put it in the trunk of my Accord Coupe & it's perfect in there.

I was thinking the same thing, but nice to put things in the rear without rearranging everything when we go shopping or just putting large in the area.

Yeah, sucks being sponsored and doing something I love... too bad im too old for it... and I guess since I don't have neighbors y'all can pound sand for all I care...lol Did you know that hearing damage occurs at the frequency that is at a damaging level and not across the bandwidth of human hearing? Apparently not... This means that my truck doesn't seem as loud to me as it actually is if I have hearing loss in the bandwidth that my stereo is tuned to... Everything outside of that bandwidth is as loud to me as it is to everyone else. Most people in national or world level car audio competition are actually older than I am... This just shows me how little you guys actually know about car audio, and how little respect you have for others who enjoy things you don't. Y'all are the ones who need to grow up. No worries, I won't be doing any CNC work for you guys now. Back to the car audio forums I go... no loss on my end...

I'm running a single crossfire c5 1700d and 2 tantric HD 15's that my sponser sent me for the BMW. My teammate made world finals for trunk 1 and had is bc5500 eat itself a week before so we didn't go this year. This coming season should be good. Hoping to get a nod from crossfire but I'll have to wait till points start building before I make any calls about it. Team Tantric vinyls should be on the way this week for the 4runner though so all is well that ends well. My last post was filled to the brim with sarcasm, it doesn't always translate on paper I guess. I'm not one to get butt hurt about things, haters gonna hate, baters gonna bate...lol

Replaced stolen cat converter and changed my own oil (first time)

After two weeks of driving around waking the dead and rattling my teeth, I finally had a day off where I could get a new catalytic converter installed. Had my oem one stolen in a hospital parking garage while I was inside visiting my wife who just had surgery. Nice right? Security camera caught it on tape, even got a license plate number for the getaway vehicle (an upstanding couple with their kid in the back), but alas the plate was stolen too. So no recovery of the original part; just got a standard aftermarket one from B&S Mufflers here in Tulsa (always good service). Still have to get over the paranoia when I park it on the street or figure out some kind of defense (those cat-locks are nice but expensive).

Anyway once I got her back from the shop I attempted to change my own oil for the first time. I know it's not that big a task but I tend to build things up in my mind plus I didn't want to screw anything up!ray: Happy to say it was a breeze (and not too dirty) and will be doing it myself from now on. (side note: I let it drain for an hour while I made lunch and it was still dripping slowly when I returned; I don't know how these lube places can do a thorough job in 30 minutes)
