I really like the look of plate bumpers too. Are they significantly heavier or anything like that?
trd 02, is it easy to come off if you need to remove grill for xyz job?

dude didn't want to budge on price at all, so i told him forget it. my relitive goes to china often i will just tell them to bring me back one, seeing how they only cost 25 bucks on alibaba.

After driving my 98 for 3 years almost dead stock, I have finally started doing a few things I had envisioned for it. Today (OK, really yesterday), I put on new wheels and tires....
I had paint mixed to match for the center caps, just have to get around to spraying them, but it looks much better than I expected without them.

I removed the OEM CD changer/tape deck/radio and factory amplifier. This is my first stereo removal and install. Easy peazy once I realized I had to bypass/remove the factory amplifier that I didn't know was hiding under the dash.
Installed the Pioneer FH-X820BS
Pioneer FH-X820BS CD receiver at Crutchfield.com
Old OEM system that didn't light up at all, had missing buttons, sticking buttons , CD changer that didn't work and a tape deck that might have actualy worked—but I tossed all my cassettes years and years ago when I was like 12...so I never tested it :biggrin2:
New Pioneer system
Color matched unit w/dash lights for an integrated look.
Bluetooth works great for playing music from my phone, taking/making calls and even did a FaceTime call with the phone sitting in a mount.
Audio sounds really good too. So nice to be able to listen to music again. I didn't think the factory speakers would sound this good. I still plan to put some Polk or Infiniti speakers in after I continue with other repairs first.

After almost 6 years of driving around with a cracked windshield, I had a new one installed on the '97 today.
It's kind of freaking me out because it looks like there's no glass there at all... like I could just reach out and touch the hood.
Oh yeah, and it got some new windshield wipers, too.

Got some new tires installed before all the snow starts flying, 265/75r16 Duratracs, hopefully they are as good as everyone says! Also recently installed clear front corners and turn signals, weather tech floor liners front to back, weather tech vent visors and a Yakima Fat Cat 6 for the snowboards.
Sure is a nice looking paint job! I'd almost kill for a copper colored 4Runner

What I did today to my 3rd Gen...I've started the install of a B&M 70264 transmission oil cooler. So far it is mounted in place and tomorrow morning I'll hook up the tubing. I am a little concerned about getting the rubber tubing onto the steel tranny lines - sure is tight clearance there. I may just use the first couple of inches of the existing tubing and then new for the rest of it. I don't want to mess up my hand like BigFish did .
I also took the air hose and blew a lot of dead bugs and stuff off the rads ....

Nice! Do you have original engine and trans? Or is it rebuild?
