Took off rear drivers side fender flare cleaned up the rust behind there also did hitch receiver and a small spot inside the drivers door then sprayed rust converter now wait 24hrs to cover with some paint then I can say my 2001 sr5 will be rust free

Pulled a driveshaft off a 2000 SR5 from the junkyard to swap into my '96 Limited, the local driveshaft shop totally screwed up the balance my my original unit even after a re-do. I confirmed my suspicion that there was nothing wrong with the original shaft's balance because the new junkyard unit is totally smooth (minus a low frequency wobble under load due to a worn u joint).

Finally ordered my cbi front bumber, anyone know the turn around times?

Not sure on the turnaround times (I got lucky and was able to stop in on my way through town and picked up a "scratch and dent")

However, you will LOVE it when it does show up. Hopefully you have the newer style factory bumper mounts so it will just bolt right up. My '96 needed plates welded on the front frame rails, but totally worth it.

edit: I see you have a 96 Limited...crawl under and see if you have these crush cans on the front frame rails instead of a flange with 3 bolts.

If so, make sure they send you these weld plates.

The crush cans come off with one bolt, idk ill see whenever it gets here.

Started replacing valve cover gaskets and it was going good until I slipped and destroyed one of my new spark plug seals. Be careful when bending the tabs back down on the bottom side. Other than that everything looked good.

Trying to decide what SS lift I want to install. FML! :tongue1:

Got the steering rack bushings installed today. How does everyone torque that vertical bolt to spec? FSM says it should be 123ft/lbs. Got all the others set correctly.

Got the sliders coming on Tuesday, and hope to get them welded on in the next week or two. LBJ's and OTRE's get here on Wednesday and will install them when new UCA's get here. Ordered some JDM taillights too :biggrin1:

Over the past week,
Picked up a similar sized km1 as a spare tire, mounted on a matching rim

With the helpful hand of [MENTION=89400]MrHentoni[/MENTION] Fixed my leaky valve cover gaskets and switched to Mobil1 oil, started a tranny drain and fill, installed a Sonoran steel Trac bar (I feel like we did so much more though)

And today I did my biweekly interior cleaning and organizing and added much hp thanks to stickers

Rear bumper to come next week

Put a deposit down on a sport hood that I will be going to pick up on Friday! I'm super excited. It appears to be in really good shape with only a few scratches and maybe two small stains from bird poop, but I think it is in really good shape. It can't be in any worse shape then my stock hood really which has a good bit of chips and stains from the previous owner not washing as often as I do... Best of all only $175!!!
