What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I put in the new style steering rack guide but tbh it felt better before. The old one only had a very small amount of vertical play and the steering felt perfect. Now it has not quite bump steer but the wheels dont track as solid as before. I think I need to tighten it up more, I did 18 ft/lbs and back 19 degrees. Or maybe even an alignment? I also put new moog stabilizer links on front and rear.

Plus I got everything back together after doing the valve cover gaskets, cleaned TB, cleaned MAF, cleaned IAC, new PCV valve, PCV grommet, PCV hose, TB gasket, IAC gasket, intake gaskets, tightened accelerator cable.

Next up radiator + hoses + thermostat. After that a lift and and some duratracs.

Finally got most of the parts I ordered :D. Loaded 231mm tundra calipers, rotors, rear brake shoes, rear brake hardware kit, toytec eibach front coils, diff drop kit, ome 891 rear coils, long travel billy 5125's, oem denso plugs and plug wiring, and some other small stuff :D Still waiting on the tundra billy 5100's :)
Sooo excited!

Nice, though I am quite curious where you are putting that cabin air filter.....

Replaced the rear windshield spray nozzle and rear windshield wiper. For the latter Toyota does not stock just the blade refills anymore, they make you buy the whole wiper, for all of $8 and change.

Installed new Denso Radiator since the OEM one had 187,569 miles on it, also threw on a B&M 70268 for good measure.

Holy bananas I didnt even realize that it didn't have one! Shit! My parents '95 Volvo 850 had one(I almost convinced them to sell it to me... I only kind of miss it)! Haha, guess you learn something everyday. This is my first car so everything is a learning experience. Maybe I'll mod the sucker so that it fits :P

Edit: After looking at it a bit, I might be able to put something together on AutoCAD and get it 3D printed. That way I could easily replace the filter.

Installed a new rear O2 sensor this morning, and did the transmission mount while I was under there. Would have only taken about an hour and a half but the nuts on the sensor flange were in such bad shape I had to run out to the store for new ones. Hoping this gets read of my CEL. If it doesn't I guess I need new cats, and I'll probably just pull the bulb and drive it as is.

Bad idea:faint:

Installed an LED 3rd brake light. I work at a Honda dealer, and we replace these in civics often, I decided to see if I could fix one. I honestly don't remember what I did, maybe just reflowed the solder joints, but I got it working. So I took the brake light apart on the 4walker, hot glued this thing in, and connected it. Maybe not a huge difference, but I'm happy with it. Sorry I didn't take a before pic, or any during the process.

Custom licence plate? Perhaps you need a supercharger!

Just looked at my lower ball joints today after feeling a ton of play on the freeway last night in the wind. Tie rods were still tight, but look beat. Lower Ball joints looks beat and I can feel play. Its bad. So in a desperate situation here I know that the OEM BJ is the best option but I can't afford that. So quickly guys opinions!

1. Is the Napa BJ any better than the MasterPro @Orilleys? I found them here in SD for $40 a piece and want to go get them and put them on now. Good for now??

Do you need me to explain why removing the bulb on the CEL is a bad idea vs fixing the issue at hand.

Actually, yes. I'd like to hear your justification for it. I'm not putting two new converters on the truck at 200k miles. I have a scan gauge on it so if any other codes come up I'll know it. I just don't want to look at the CEL all the time while I'm driving at night.

Because if you can't afford $250 for a couple new catalytic converters you should save your money and fix it right. And 200,000 miles is nothing if you take care of it but what would you know about that. Your obviously very young :ybrick: when you get a bit older you will realize the importance of doing things right. What are you even doing on this site that is for the most part dedicated to properly maintaining and taking care of our T4R's
