Bumpstops and JAOS ladder

Picked up a set of extended bump stops from [MENTION=90485]URBAN ASSAULT[/MENTION] then threw my JAOS ladder after dipping it. Still a little off center so I'll be adjusting soon.

Yesturday took my 3rd gen on the 4 Peaks loop trail. All easy graded service road trail, cars can drive it. Had some fun sliding around on the curvy dirt roads, got a little squirrely on me a few times. Had an ac hard line rub a hole in it from rubbing on the front core support, drier to evaporator line, easy fix but sucks.

Tundra Brake Upgrade and LBJ's - DONE!

With 311K miles you guys really scared me about the lower ball joint failures. Mine were never involved in the recall but I went ahead and bought two new OEM ball joints over the weekend and went ahead and replaced them today. Finally finished up my Tundra 13WL rotor/caliper brake upgrade. Can't wait to feel the difference in the ride. (Will replace with stainless steel brake lines later on.)

Went with the following:
Lower Ball Joints - OEM PN# 43330-39585 (Rt) and 43340-39465 (Lt)

Sport Tech Slotted and Drilled Rotors - 127.44118R and 127.44118L
PowerStop Performance Brake Calipers - S2712 for the pair
Wagner Thermo Quiet Ceramic OE21 shimless pads.

I hesitated to go with the aftermarket calipers and the Wagner pads. Both have a warranty and if I'm not happy with them I can return them. They also take any existing caliper in exchange which was also a deciding factor. Will keep you posted on performance issues.

CBI Group 31 battery tray with X2 AGM 31 battery (rebadged NorthStar AGM with extra 12 month warranty), replaced factory battery cables with mix of 2 AWG and 2/0 AWG welding cable, and got power to my Blue Sea fuse block finally.

I may add one more 2/0 ground cable from the fender bolt to the alternator case, just because I have enough cable and lugs left to do it.

Still have to hook my winch up. I don't want to clutter my studs any more than they already are, so I may look at a distribution block.

Also replaced the turn signals that came with my CBI Hybrid bumper and stuck these 9 LED versions in their place. They seem to be much more visible.

Ordered up the SS 7.2 Kit and some 255/85/r16 Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx tires! Been waiting to pull the trigger on this for over a year now, and the time has finally come! Giddy up!

AND added a few horsepower with this new TRD brake light sticker yesterday!

Last Friday I replaced the 3 drive belts (alt. a/c and p/s) with OEM belts. Sunday I went out into the desert near Gila Bend AZ (same area shown in my avatar) for some railroad photography and today I replaced the coolant and both the upper and lower rad hoses.

Next up is to a shop for a couple of things that need to be fixed that I don't have the tools and/or knowledge to do...

Got my scangauge mostly installed. I still need to drill a hole in the back of the single din pocket below my stereo for the cable to go through, but after that I'll get a picture of it all done.

Things are moving right along. I just picked up my first 4Runner. It's a 2002 SR-5V6 Auto in millennium silver.

Last Saturday I had a Clifford 3806X 2-Way Led Security System installed. I hate car alarms, but I hate replacing locks, windows, stereos, and paying insurance deductibles more.

Tomorrow, I am getting the front windows tinted. I am tempted to have the rest tinted a bit more than the light factory smoke screen. I am coming from a Toyota ext. cab that had 5%, so being able to see inside so easily feels weird and a little insecure.

Next upgrade will either be sound system or lift and tires. Hrrrmmm...

One step forward, one step back...

Got the front two windows tinted ~15%. Iam undecided on getting a strip across the front, leaving it as is, or maybe tinting the whole front.

However.... Driving North on I-5 into Seattle, I hear a loud impact. I had no idea what it was. I had control, so still had four tires. Checked gauges. They looked good. I started to hear a crackling sound. I turned off stereo. Still there. I go to turn my head around to clear my lane change and BINGO! My rear driver's side window is cracking up. Lucky me. I have not found any foreign body intrusion or exit wound, so maybe it was a rock. There have been some incidents where people have been getting their windows shot with bb/pellet guns. But more than likely I was just destined to have a rocking day...

Nothing hundreds of dollars can't fix.

I replaced my antenna today... Took the hit and went for a factory replacement... For reasons unknown I just love watching it go up and down (it's the small things in life)
