What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Over the past week got a couple things done:
Painted all the trim and bumper valences with black trim paint
Painted the skid plate, rear license plate panel
Replaced brake pads/shoes painted the calipers red
Removed running boards
painted rust preventative paint under the whole front end
Here are a couple pics, haven't posted pics of her in a while

I rolled the old girl over 368,000 miles in the drive-thru of an In & Out — so I bought a 4x4 burger in her honor.

It's encouraging to see miles that high.

And, I could eat the hell out of that burger!! Veggie loving, Whole Foods shopping, fitness nut - wife of mine has only managed to change one thing about
me and it's my giving up drive thru burgers. Enjoy!

OEM LBJs and OTREs, Sankei 555 (from Napa) ITREs. Alignment shop was slammed yesterday, so that'll have to wait until Monday, but it already feels better.

Recharged the AC. Finally getting some warm days here in Boulder county.

I spent 3.5hrs doing touch-up paint on the hood, mirrors and fenders. I not hate tiny little paint dots.

I ordered some clips (both kinds) from eBay to replace the ones that I broke and put one some silicone adhesive in between the gaskets.

Put my 33 (32 5/16") spare in the 99 to answer a curiosity. No, it absolutely does not fit. Even if it wasn't hitting the e-brake bracket on the rear diff the panhard blocks it from going up in place. On the other side the tire was up against the hitch. Plenty of room between the frame rails.

All I can figure is people who get 33s up in there either do not have a rear hitch or abnormally small 33s.

Would be happy to be proven wrong just for the satisfaction of curiosity.

There is about 1 3/4" of space between the 31" (30 1/2") stock spare and the panhard....I could see a 32" fitting, but don't know for a fact it will. I ran out of daylight and time to try it. The stock spare is very close to the hitch so pretty much all the extra size has to go forward when adding size.

I changed the downstream O2 sensor with a Bosch direct fit JC Whitney. Went well and cleared the code! I'm putting it on the road tomorrow for the first time.

I 1st tried without modifications. No go, so I took it apart and started drilling.

Started the rear bumper build thing.

Replaced my LBJs today. It went pretty easy, and they should be good for a long time now. The steering feels a little easier now and I have a lot more peace of mind. I also found out I need new inner tie rod ends, but I'll probably do the inner and outer at the same time anyway. Nothing too critical though, the steering still feels pretty good so I'm not in too much of a rush to replace them.
