What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Cleaned up her interior, and installed a Pioneer BT270 head unit. So far I love it.

The 96 does not have a rear antenna. Early 3rd gens don't. Not sure which year they appeared, though. If you don't see (a little harder to see than this, but you get the idea...):
(quit laughing) you don't have a rear antenna to connect to. After seeing how many are interested in doing this just thought I'd throw that little tidbit out there for those few that could use it.

I have a 96 with the rear antenna, its a Limited so it might just be that model that got them.

I didn't even bother plugging in the antenna since we mostly listen to Pandora or a playlist from our phones. Can't stand listening to commercials.

PS looks like that 4Runner rendering needs some LC rear springs, it's got the saggy bottom.

Commercials make stuff free. They are good. Pandora has them on free version also. I cant stand spending money on crap new music thats released these days.

I have a '97 SR5 and I have the window antenna.
I have no idea if it is connected to my aftermarket head unit now or not. My reception is good, for having a completely broken off front antenna.

Had a busy day with the runner today. Replaced the sway bar bushings, found and replaced a rotten sway bar end link in the process. Ran a couple cans of BG through the engine and gas tank, drove like hell for 150 miles then replaced the plugs and wires and did an oil change.

Holy shit my 4Runner runs like new and actually gets decent gas mileage (250 miles on this tank and still have 1/4 left) It idles nice and quiet and doesn't vibrate at stops. So happy with it. 209k miles and now it feels like new again

Today I attempted to install a new Borla 40665.

Thought I could disassemble the exhaust to cut out the old on the bench but ended up cutting it off the vehicle. Mocked it up and tacked everything in place, measured, welded the inlet in place. Sexy.

Measured wrong. The output is off by, well, a lot.

TOMORROW I will install a new Borla 40665.

Changed my fuel filter the other day. At 171k it was pretty dirty, the gas that came out of the inlet side was nice and brown and looked like mud. The paper element inside was pretty nasty too. Well worth the 10 minutes it took. Maybe it will help my MPG's and might have helped my throttle response a little too. That could just be the placebo effect though...

I drove it to work and found out I need new Catalytic Converters as I've got the dreaded codes and already replaced both sensors. I forgot how much work it was to drive and maintain a 14 year old vehicle with 236,000 miles on it.

It's always something.

Still love driving it though.

Drivers rear axle bearing all new brake pads and rotor turned. Also led interior.. Anyone know how to make that rear license plate seal stay in place? It keeps falling out

I just picked up my 3rd gen this past Saturday. It had one owner for its 19 years of life and was garaged. Today I removed the running boards. Many plans ahead.
