My Camelback order showed up. I replaced the PCV already. The old one was fine, but it was a plastic aftermarket one, now it's the metal bodied OEM. Other than a few extra minutes fighting the damn grommet, easy change. I'll do the fuel filter and oil change in the next week or 2 when I get the time.

Did a mock up of outside temp gauge. This gauge tells temp, time and volts. I will make a faceplate to mount the 2 buttons that switch between the readouts. Should fit in same spot right below display.

That's cool, So where are you going to mount it? Same spot as the clock?

I dropped the Runner off to get the CATs changed out, I tried to do it myself this past weekend and stripped one of the three nuts on the upper connection by the exhaust manifold. So upset, all broke free but one, I have no torch or anything to heat it. So ended up taking her to Midas today and they are installing them for $100/1 hour labor. Not to bad after all.

I hope that's all for a while.

Plasti Dipped my 4th Gen

I decided to plasti dip my front grill and the bottom of my bumper. Adds much needed contrast to my 2008 Silver 4Runner. I think it turned out great!

Wonderful day working on the 4runner...

Went out to do my sway bar bushings and end links... To start the fun, my jack stands aren't tall enough for my vehicle. Interesting problem to have. Can't decide if that excites me or not lol.

I then ended up having the wrong size sway bar bushings.(should have double checked first, Too big for the brackets) On top of that, trying to get the sway bar brackets off, destroyed the internals of my ratchet. Decided with my luck today, my steering rack bushings can wait until the weekend.

Interestingly enough, I learned that Harbor Freight has a new line of Snap On knock off ratchets. 20 bucks for most, similar to like a SH80. Same grip minus 8 teeth. Snap on is 80, HF is 72. So of course I had to take it apart and look at the internals. The springs are cheap, but seemingly a good tool for the 20 bucks.

Prothane #18-1115 26mm worked great for me for the front sway bar.

I started with the 27mm Energy Suspension ones and found they are too big. They can be woman-handled in, but it ain't fun and I'm assuming the tight fit is what herded the right side to an earlier-than-normal demise.

Not today, but two days ago I got my Shrockworks sliders installed. They bolt on, but they're solid. I can jack the 4Runner up off the ground from them with no issues at all.

My wife likes to drive my rig but it just put on 315s and will be adding a body lift. It's going to be pretty tall.

Are those functional as a step?

Yeah I think they could be. Right now they are a little awkward for me to get used to since I never needed a step to get in and got rid of the running boards right after I got it. My mom's 5'4" though and she said they help her. My truck is still stock height with only 2 sizes bigger tires though so I'm sure they would be more useful on your truck as a step. If I lift I will probably go with ~2" so I think then they would certainly be useful.

Your front end reminds me of Christmas, so many bright colors! Can't beat the Tundra (or Sequoia) brake setup, sure does beat those stock brakes by a longshot.
