What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I might have an alignment by the end of the day. I just installed the Sonoran Steel 1.2 and have been to a bunch of shops trying to get the truck aligned. I finally just took it to the Toyota Dealer and they said it doesn't look like it would be a problem at all. Just waiting on them to get it done now.

Same question. Place I went to had no issues with mine.

Over the past couple of weeks I've put on a new rear u-joint, new drums and shoes on the back, freed up the parking brake and put new pads and rotors on the front. Should have done all that ages ago. Rides like a new truck now!

Well one shop said that the 4Runner was to big for their "alignment machine" lol

Firestone told me the camber is so far out of spec that there would be no way to adjust it properly. And no they wouldn't give me any numbers or data.

WOW, all the normal excuses. One from each shop. Good stuff!

FWIW after having few shops align my LR UCA's the camber looks positive from the front and tires wearing pretty bad on the outside. Even though two alignment shops showed 0* camber. I almost want them to make it .2* negative to try and fix it. Both shops recommended I dont do that and keep it at 0*. But tires are not happy. Issue ever since I installed my LR UCA's.

I picked up some used 285/75-16 Dynapro ATMs off of a 2004 Taco to replace my 265/70-16s. Had a little rub so I beat the pinch weld down and then it was time to try them out!

Built Extended Rear Swat Bar End links

Built and Installed Rear End Links was able to pick up all parts needed within 20 mins, auto part store then lowe's and back home slap them together and onto the 4runner completed within 1 1/2 hrs. which was nice The old and new

Installed and actually feel pretty damn amazing since since all of my end links are completely blown out.

Got the grills swapped between the '96 & '00. And so it begins...

Cleaned up the power antenna with brake cleaner. Then I opened up the tailgate and pulled out the door lock and cleaned it with a bunch of brake cleaner and lubed it up with Würth HHS-2000(smoooooooth now) . Then I did my regular 5000 km oil change.

How does one stretch cv boots? I was at O'reilly the other day and I didn't see a boot stretcher in the rental section.

Get some needle nose pliers, loosen/take off the inner clamps, then jam the pliers underneath the boot and pull. Alternate sides to make it easier. Then just put the clamps back on.

That is a nice bright red paint! I am thinking of painting my budbuilts Red, and doing the calipers and other stuff red. Either that or I will do white because my color is the Super White, you may not be able to tell that from my profile pic

Does your front tires have noticeable camber when looking at it from the front? My camber numbers showed 0 on both sides per two machines. I have visual positive camber. Been rotating tires every 5k miles and they are worn heavily on the outside of the tires. Im about to bust out a level and do my own camber as I feel I could do it better than these yoyos.

How much did dealer charge for alignment?

The dealer charged me $100 big ones, and were kind enough to remind me that my hoses are old, my brakes are warped, and there is an excessive amount of motor oil in and around my engine bay. Here is a picture of my front tires:
