New Bumper!

I am jealous. I just realized how bad my 4runner's fat lip is. I need a new bumper like this one!

That is a nice bright red paint! I am thinking of painting my budbuilts Red, and doing the calipers and other stuff red. Either that or I will do white because my color is the Super White, you may not be able to tell that from my profile pic

I hate my fat lip bumper... Yesterday I friggen found out that the squeak I kept getting over bumps was coming from the stupid bumper! It's days are numbered!

cleaned my mass airflow sensor and throttle body...a little mystery oil in the gas tank too...my engine is idling a tad high @900RPMs instead of around 800, wonder if it'll gradually go back?either way it is noticeably more responsive ...
now I just gotta figure out a way to get this damn stripped/rusted bolt off the bumper bracket so I can put on my 98 bumper!

It started with a oil and filter change and ended with a new coat of paint and replacing missing bolts on the skid plate.

Rear Hatch Cargo Area Light

• Sitting in my garage are five Lumitec Lite-Accent EchoLED lights for the interior panel (brushed aluminum) They are extremely low profile flush mounted and closely match my grey interior.
• One low-profile Engine Room LED "Nevis2" White/Red to replace the dome light.

Nevis2 - Engine Room & Ultility Light, Brushed Finish, White & Red, CRI 70-75, CCT 5000, 10-30vDC, 900mA (Pretty damn spendy $169)

I want the additional bright white lights when needed for landing airplaanes but I also want to be able to switch between White and Red for camping when you don't want to wake up sasquatch and his buds. So I will need a DPDT which is what the Auto/On feature of the dome light essentially is and perhaps an SPDT for the five interior hatch lights.

So I tested the Nevis2 out tonight just to see how it looked and it's pretty awesome. I like the low profile and the ability to switch between white and red off the OEM switch.

Now the challenge is finding a way to install it so it looks OEM. Here's a couple of photos. I'm open to some ideas. 3D printing perhaps?? Fiberglass? Carbon Fiber? Re-shape the plastic interior piece? Return it and go with white on one switch and red on another?

I'm about 3 hours into my timing belt/water pump change. I've got everything off up to the crank pulley. That's where I decided to call it a night. I also haven't removed my radiator yet because I need to make sure that I can get those special zip ties for mounting the transmission cooler somewhere here local, I forgot to order them before hand... So far so good though!

When I did my daughters timing belt I left the radiator in also and when I was trying to break the harmonic balancer bolt the socket broke and I knocked the upper hose connection off. $200.00 worth of oh shit, be careful.

I put it in my thread but had to share in this one because I enjoy looking back at what all your rigs look like as they transform.

I got tires on and put Spidertrax wheel spacers on. 285 75 r16 BFG A/T with OME heavy springs f/r and OME shocks f/r. There is definitely going to be some trimming needed to wheel it.

I thought so too after looking at everyone elses pics, in fact I had to look at the tire size to make sure they arent bigger lol. Not sure what the deal is. I may have to get a body lift and trim but we'll see. It's getting a test run on a close, but flexy trail tomorrow so I can mark all the spots that need to get worked over. Not cutting fenders though if I can help it.

Yeah cause I've got a 3" lift on mine and they don't rub at all. Of course I really quit hitting the trails after breaking enough things on it lol. But my tires don't look THAT big

I think the spacers are creating a bit of a parrallax with respect to the way the photo is taken. Those tires sure do look pretty tight in the wheel wells.

I had them test fit one on the front, and it would NOT fit without the wheel spacers. Discount refused to install the spacers so I had to find a way to install them and go back for tire mounting. Gclark you do seem to have a bit more room. Did you trim anything at all? I wonder if BFG's run a little bigger these days than they used to. That didn't used to be the case. Both my front and rear bumpers came a little mangled when I bought the truck and they are made of fairy dust and pot metal brackets so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

They had the OME part numbers right on them so I don't think that's the problem and after install I did get a true three inch lift from the hubs to the fender. Hard to say. I rub my front bumper just doing street driving.

These are cell phone pics too, it doesn't seem to look QUITE that bad in person, but I'll find out tomorrow.
