What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Drove it to a neighbor's house to help him change out a Honda Civic leaking motor mount on his daughter's car. Not a tough job, but the Chinese Autozone made replacement mount had misaligned holes. I'd be happy if the auto supply parts makers could just make parts in Mexico, not the PRC. At least the former has some degree of quality control.

A while back, something in my engine compartment started making a humming/moaning noise. Nothing was noticeably broken or not working, so I figured I'd wait and let it fail/get worse.
A year later (last week), this moaning noise suddenly got a lot worse--I started by flushing the power steering thinking that the PO had put power steering fluid in the reservoir and this was causing my pump to fail. So i rigged up some surgical tubing and pumped fresh ATF in.
It didn't really help the humming, and today on my way home from work, I started getting a flashing battery light on the dash.
Stopped at autozone and sure enough my alternator failed their test. Bummer...
...but, an alternator is cheaper to replace than a power steering pump I guess. Looks like I have a project for this weekend.

Overall a pretty easy install. With the Rigid Duallys, the wirings super easy with a clean install. I'll be uploading pictures hopefully this weekend when I get them hooked up to the switch

Yes, ATF. I run Mobil 1 synthetic in my Toyotas.

Installed 231 Tundra brakes on my wife's 2000 Limited! Used OEM rotors and pads. Autozone reman calipers. Total ran me (after core refund) $290. Man alive what a difference this makes. I'm going to have to do this on my 97 SR5 when I get some funds. Took 3 hours. I have no brake experience except pad changing. The first one took me a bit, but the other side took about 20 minutes after I knew exactly what to do. This is with the emergency jack too.
Edit: 3 hour time includes trip to Walmart for vise grips. Apparently I did not own vise grips before tonight.

Yesterday I picked up the lowest mileage 5 speed that I have seen for sale in a long time. It's a 99 with 89k miles and 1 owner vehicle. This thing drives like it is new! I can't wait to slap the supercharger on it that I have sitting in my garage :lookout:

Sweet! Nice TE wheels too, is it the 2.7 or 3.4?
(looks like a base model with the door molding but an SR5 with the color matched door handles)
Do you mind me asking how much? I would pick up a 3.4, 5 speed, w/locker if I could find one mint.
