What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Loaded up the truck with the new tires, LR UCAs and OME lift so I can take it to my buddies garage tomorrow evening for installation!

Just curious, what did you torque your lower arms to?

Be prepared for the drain plug to be stripped. Mine stripped out with the proper sized socket, heat and a breaker bar. Just buy yourself a $6 harbor freight pump to siphon out the fluid and then re-fill from the fill plug.

Pain in the ass, but from what I heard at the dealership, it's pretty common. They wanted $200 to remove my stripped plug after telling me they "replace them all the time" at the parts counter.:shocked:

Mine stripped, so I had a buddy weld an allen socket into the plug. I'm sure the heat from welding helped but it came out without any problems after this:

The socket came in a set of 3. $11.

The truck isn't totaled but needs a lot of work. On the plus though we got the deer and can't wait to have a hearty dinner.

That'd be nice to live in a state where you could do something other than let the animals rot. In Oregon, that's a HEFTY fine. Can you take the antlers now in CO? I know that used to be illegal. Also in Oregon, if you hit one and don't kill it, you must leave it to suffer. My morals haven't allowed for that, however.

Yeah you can take the antlers. If you hit a deer and it is still alive im pretty sure that you can kill it but im not sure. Since my buddies truck is literally a steel tank, it killed the deer before he got out of the car. You can call the cops to come check it out, and they will say if you can have it or not.

In CO you can also get a Road Kill permit and take animals hit by cars. I am pretty sure in CO you can dispatch an animal you hit that is still alive and injured.

Changed out the rear diff oil on my new-to-me 2000 4Runner with Mobil 1 synthetic. Easier than I thought it would be.



Maybe I'll do the front next weekend.......

Just be aware, the front on that fluid is nothing like the rear. In my experience at least, it's a huge pain.

Thanks, I usually use my Sony A3000. Occasionally my Galaxy S4, but I try and use the real camera for everything. All the recent stuff was taken with the Sony.

Nice, that makes a lot of sense. Right now I'm pretty much limited to taking photos with an S4, so I can understand why you wouldn't want to LOL
