Stole the rack with a shovel mount from my Forester and put it on the Runner for extra firewood capacity and so I don't have to throw a muddy shovel inside the rig - what do you think? Keep it or give it back to the Subie.

With extended rear sway bar links I flex pretty hard into the rear tank skid. With the removed rear sway bar links just driving slightly quick though bumps can have my axle slam into take and it really hits hard when flexing all the way out. NTM the body roll is so bad that I had a lot more issues with the body rolling into rock and or trees near the edge of trails. Here is an example.

i just looked at mine after seeing this post and it shows contact. I just came back from death valley and this must have been where I heard the rub.

If i pull the gas tank shield and cut/grind the area, will that be enough?

For some it is, for some it is not. I took a sledge to mine and it was no where near enough. With a lot of flex it will hit no madder what but keeping the rear sway bar helps a lot with the contact.

Be careful cutting off the shield because Ive heard of people contacting even after doing that and was starting to wear a hole in the tank.

thanks. I will keep a close eye on it. I had to remove the rear sway bar because it was rubbing against the elocker motor. I plan to get bump stops and limit straps so that should help.

Oh!? I thought this was the new 2016 Forester...

J/k. Your runner looks sweet! Even if it borrowed a bit of utility from the Subi. Makes sense to me.

Finally got around to mounting the Scangauge. Had to modify the plastic mount in order for it to fit snug. Not the prettiest, but it works.

Also get to have my windshield replaced thanks to Arkansas. Second time I got a rock chip driving through that state, this time more serious. We are not on good terms lol.

Jason B She has 206k kms, 96 limited, she is pristine, i got super lucky finding this rig. Engine is barely broken in!

The shop completely messed up my rear axles. I had good faith in the guy I spoke to but came to realize he simple just nods and agrees with everything you say. I asked if they have a tool for toyotas "oh yeah we have the tool we do a lot of them". Great, can you space all the rings exactly the same and flip the outer retainer, and move it 1mm inwards? "Oh yes we can do that, we had a guy in a while ago asking the same thing".

I came back later and they pressed everything right on top of each other with no spacing at all. The outer retainer is about 20 mm from the polished edge when it should be 4mm. I find out they don't even have a mm rule. The backing plates won't even spin. One of the bearings is about 10mm high, they didn't press it in far enough. I cant see if the snap rings is seated properly because they smashed the abs ring on top of them. The axles are filthy as hell covered in dirty grease and metal shavings, when I brought them in completely cleaned. I left the lug nuts on to protect the lug bolts and they have taken them off for some reason, I dont even want to know what they did to the lugs bolts. The hub on one axle is greatly further out than the other side?? i think they destroyed one of the outer seals. Then he claims that was exactly how it was spaced when I brought it in. :redbrick::redbrick::redbrick:

Triumphed against the forces of evil earlier this week (ie the PO of my truck,) who either rounded or over torqued every single bolt and nut in my engine bay. Despite their best efforts, or lack thereof, my heads are off and at the machine shop!

Installed my retrofit HID's.

Got lot's of little tiny tedious parts that 99% of people wouldn't care about and fixed them.

Ordered 2 new plate bumpers.

Expensive day for the truck but sometimes you just see something and have to make a change.
